Name some fo your favorite pieces of product placement in superhero films. I will start with my favorite.

Superman II:

Superman battles the Phantom Zone criminals. During the course of the battle, Superman is thrown into what is blatantly a Marlboro cigarette truck. That's right, cigarette placement in a kids movie. You've gotta love it!

McDonald's in Batman Forever...ot only in real life when marketing toys was good, but when Dick rides the Batmobile, he slows down near the girls (ahem...prostitutes), then the neon McDonald's sign can flash before your eyes.
You've gotta hate it!

There ain't no good product placement. Just some fun with trades in the James Bond franchise. Other than that, it's good to know that corporations pay movies to place their product because otherwise they could miss crucial money to keep their project going. So I guess my most tolerable product placement for now are Nike and Mattel in the Back To The Future saga. Those were the good stuff and well placed, in a funny way. So that's fine.

I am surprised no one has said the product placement that runs through every single Superhero movie ever...

Fetish wear.

I think the most effective use of rampant product placement in a movie was Spielberg's Minority Report. There's ads everywhere, and in the future they even scan your iris as you pass so the voice in the ad will call out your name. Now, there's no way to have product placement NOT be product placement, but the way it's used in the movie is sort of self parody, like "you think all this advertising is bad now? Just wait till we get to the future, it'll be f***ing everywhere!" I, Robot and The Island kind of tried to do the same thing, but it just didn't work.

As for ads in superhero movies, don't forget the Cheerios box early in Superman, or in Superman II, right after the Marlboro truck, Supes tosses Zod (or Nom, I forget which) into a giant neon Coca-Cola sign.

I also like when in Spider-Man, Peter is in his room, practicing using his webs, and we get a big close up of the Dr. Pepper can on the drawer and we watch it sail into Peter's hand. That was great!

Or the Dr. Pepper in X2 where Wolverine pulls out a Dr. Pepper (label out of course), and then he hands it to Iceman (still label out to the camera), and makes it cold.

FF2 snuck it in there as part of the storyline.
Torch shows up with a uniform with several corporate sponsor patches sewed on it. One of the is Dos Equis... later in the movie there's a Dos Equis bottle, label out, in plain view.
And don't forget, "Dodge presents... the Fantasticar"

With the Hemi!!!

Let's not forget the Punisher constantly downing Wild Turkey.

Hey. He spent all his money on guns and traps... but he still needed to drink.

But did he need to keep it label out all the time, and drink it when he is getting fixed up?

I wonder how much Wild Turkey paid them for the constant use.

Dr. Pepper logos were everywhere in "Joes Pizza Shop" during the opening of Spidey 2.

There was a giant Mountain Dew logo on top of a taxi Lois is about to step into in Superman Returns.

Timex watch in Superman The Movie, Lois wears one. JVC tvs are also on display in the scene where everybody is crowded in the streets watching lois being rescued on the tv sets.

A "Canon" camera logo can be seen in the window of a store during Batman Returns.

There is a Camel Cigarettes sign in Batman (1989) at the beginning when the family is robbed (it's right behind the mother as she screams).

Whew, thats about all I can think of right now. :batman:
