What kind of campaign do you think we'll see? How much money do you think will be spent? Who is going to be targetted besides us fans?

I suspect it to remain in the comic world. We'll see toys in the comic stores but not the retail places... perhaps. We'll see comics for sure but, probably not much more than this... besides the regular movie stuff (Posters and trailers and such).

Can you imagine a promo campaign like Spidey had? That would be crazy.

I think we will definately see a new comic started,as for the amount they will spend on promotion, not as much as they should will probably be the sad answer.as for the way they'll promote the movie to non fans i reckon that all they need to do is show them GR in all his glory and they will flock to the cinema but as a fan in a way i don't wan't to see to much of him before the actual movie. They may also stick him in one of the current cartoons(X-Men evo,Spidey etc..) to generate more awareness. As for the toys i think they may appear in more toy selling places than just comic stores as the movie is gonna be PG-13 and the young teens are gonna go nuts for this character IMHO:) :ghost:

a limited GR series by Garth Ennis is already planned for 2005...
in addition an action figure line is confirmed as well as a video game, models, statues, halloween costumes, soundtracks, t-shirts, hats, jackets, ect., posters, mugs, maybe even trading cards. this stuff would be pretty common..most "big" movies have this kind of thing going for it.

things i doubt we will see....breakfast cereal (i want "Ghostie-O's!!! heh..i wont ever let this die!), bedsheets, kids vitamins, charcoal briquettes :)

i do want to see lots of TV coverage on this too...like movie specials on E! network or something on the Sci-Fi channel.
im planning on trying to tape everything GR movie related when they start pimpin Ghostie early in 2006. maybe if some interested folks here would do the same we could gather it all up for a nice little "project" that im planning ;)

You mentioned a Game BIGGUN do you have any idea what type?
I would hope for something along the lines of GTA meets Spiderman 2:) :ghost:

havent heard any details on it yet...just that it was a sure thing.
yeah i imagine it would be combo of those 2 games that you mentioned. there will most certainly have to be some fist fighting in it.....just wouldnt be GR without it :)

I'm looking foward to marvel restarting the comic...and maybe a cool action figure and an awsome video game ,GR has so much potential for an awsome video game

I can't wait for the comic... Garth is a god. Wouldn't it be nice to see Texiera do the art?

As for the game idea, I started a thread on this possibility a while ago. There are some neat ideas there.

BIGGUN, I'll definatly be recording everything I possibly can when the ball starts rollin'. You can be sure of that. I'll help your project!

Sounds good!

I'm gonna have to actually buy a game consol if this game does come out. Damn.

Whatever campaign it is, I hope it's a big one. I want to see it all, Games, Toys, Trailers, posters. The works baby. Go all out with it.

it kind of hard to promote this but i doubt any fast food places like burgerking will try.

I doubt it. In fact, I'd sign a petition to not have that happen. I don't want to see GR face on the side of a burger box. That would just be stupid. T-shirts, toys and the like is fine.

Oh ...cmon dude! you know you want a BK "Ghost Burger"! specially flame broiled to perfection in the hottest ovens of HELL! :D

Instead of Hulk or Thing hands, how about Ghost Rider hands that actually shoot Hellfire?(just kidding). Seriously, I will buy everthing they produce for Ghost Rider and am really excited about the new mini-series, which hopefully would become ongoing.
Other than Tex, who would be a good artist?
By the way, did anybody else here think the most recent mini sucked ass?

What recent mini? ... Ohhhh, you're talking about that monterous 6 issue piece of hammer crap? I'm trying to forget about it.

I hope the next series isn't remotly like that.

Wow... this is going back there. Wanted to bump it again now that the promotion is really starting.

Will we see Ghost Rider in bags of chips or what? You tell me.

i hope so...i still want my "Ghostie-O's"
and even Ghost Rider's BBQ'd flavored potato chips. baked in the fire of HELL!
:D

LOL. I'm with you on that one. If they DON'T make those chips, I'll be disapointed.

Ghostie-O's. That's rich. I love it.

What age group are they gonna market too I wonder? I mean, they won't wanna go too young.

Not to tell the fine folks at Sony Pictures how to do things, but what are your ideas on how to best get Ghost Rider into the spotlight and whip up interest in the movie as we march towards summer 2006?

How about: a presence at biker rallies? Competitions to win stuff? Sponsorship of sporting events? A Johnny Blaze touring stunt show?

Remember: we want adults, kids, bikers, everyone to come see this movie and love the character as much as we do.

Let's put the word to the streets, people! The Rider is coming!!!!

P.S. Please use the trailer threads for trailer ideas. However, suggestions for where and when to show trailers are fine.

The Marketing is one of the most important things you can do,its what made Elektra do poorly @ the boxoffice!

I agree with ya on that one Nick. I'm spreadin' as much word as possible on this movie... but that's partly because of my obsession and inability to stop talkin' about it.

Not to deter you from chattin' about it in this thread but I started a similar thread a while back now. Just figured you may be interested in the conversation there... if you haven't seen it yet; http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146619.

I'll try and get them merged sometime in the future perhaps.

Whoops. Sorry. Didn't see that one. I did check the threads before I started this one. Honest!

No worries. It hasn't been posted to in a couple of months. I just wanted to make you aware of it because some good conversation came out of it.
