I thought he was kinda funny though.I wont....that guy was just straight up annoying.
Sally Field turns 66 this year and Denis Leary will be 55. Given the ages of Peter and Gwen, I'd say they're spot on. Maybe a little too old. I mean 66 is reasonable age for his grandmother. Hell, even 55 isn't out of the grandparent territory.
I was actually shocked when I found out how old Andrew really was. He fit the teenager role a lot better than Tobey did.
Additional note: Leary's son is 22 an his daughter is 20. Field's oldest son is 43 and has kids.
she was just miscast because Dunst is a far superior actress to stone if you watch her non spidey roles
should of got an oscar nom last year to be honest
I agree that Dunst got progressively worse with each film. It looked like she stopped caring by Spider-Man 3. Wasn't she wearing a wig in the first film, and then she liked the look so much she just dyed it red? Maybe that's why she looked hot in the first film, and not so much in the next two..
They were going with more of a Ult. Spidey vibe with Aunt May that i feel works. We got the old and withering Aunt May the first time around, i don't mind a younger take on the role.
It's the lankiness and the hair.Old and withering? LOLOL
I thought the ASM cast was amazing.
Garfield fit the teenager profile way better than Maguire did. Especially considering that he's older than Toby was!
Sorry but I preferred Cliff Robertson. Both are great actors, but Cliff is one of those actors that exudes decency and integrity without having to say anyting. His performance was nuanced, but my favorite exchange in the first one was where he says "I know I'm not your father" and Peter throws it back in his face, and Ben compassionately just let's him go. I liked Martin Sheen, but his performance was too forced. Speaking of which I wonder if he ever had that conversation about responsibility with Charlie that he did with Peter......apparently not.
Yeah, I always thought Cliff's Ben handled the painting thing strangely as a parental figure. Even when I watched SM1 the first time, I expected a reception like the one Peter got from Ben in TASM. It's just natural. That's exactly my problem with Robertson. He can't do anything but being kind-hearted and compassionate about every damn thing. "I'll wait for you so we paint the kitchen Michelangelo. Thumbs up." - Peter doesn't come - "I left your dinner in the oven, Michelangelo." Goddamn, man. Teach the kid some manners and responsibility: you don't do that petting his head and giving him food for being irresponsible. "I know I'm not your father," "You sure are not." Oh, ok, you're right. No, sir. You teach the kid to behave, not that being offensive makes adults quiet. Robertson's Ben was too much of a one-dimensional character. He was kindness itself and nothing else, he didn't have even a second layer.

Huh..
I never connected the painting thing to picking up Aunt May...
damn.. now I understand more how people can see that Webb copied Raimi..
but I have a feeling I never connected it because the painting thing went by pretty quickly and didn't have a true emotional impact.

You can tell Martin's Ben wouldn't be afraid to grab a belt and put it on Pete's behind if need be.
Well, to be fair, there's a big difference between forgetting to paint and forgetting to pick up your aunt, forcing her to walk a dozen blocks then take the train home by herself.
Especially when you consider how much manual labor that is for someone like him.Actually, forcing an old unemployed man to paint a room by himself is not that far.

He could've waited, but he didn't. Nor did he get upset that Peter stood him up and left him with all the work.Except Aunt May HAD to get home and Uncle Ben could've just....waited.
Disagree.I think he nailed it.She looked hot in the first one and was just plain butt ugly in the next two.Kirsten looked hot in Spider-Man 1 & 3 IMO.
