Sony and eBay has some sort of agreement that if any PS3's go over 110% (the 10% is supposed to cover shipping costs) that they will be pulled. It's the same with Everquest based stuff.

Also note; I'll be getting a PS3. I've never bashed on it in any way, and I've hardly spoken bad about it. So I don't 'hate the ps3' as you so aptly put it.

eBay is supposedly considering disallowing auctions for video game systems during a launch period, due to a myriad of lawsuits, complaints, and scams related to the 360 launch. With more of a demand this time, it would make sense that more people want to get in and scam while the getting's good.

I think the final statistic from November until the end of January was 60-70% scam listings in total. I can imagine ebay would rather keep good PR (a lot of people's opinion of ebay dropped after all the scamming involving the 360) than make an ok amount of listing fee's purely off the PS3.

People's accounts are already being banned for listing a preorder guaranteeing a system, even though its within the terms of agreement involving preorders being sold on ebay.

AFAIK the deal isn't in concrete. I read it on some tech magazine or business magazine the other day while I was in WalMart. Not a gaming mag, but something like Wired or such.

Give it a few days and I'm sure it'll be around as a well known fact. It's like the thing Sony did with Everquest. One day you could sell **** on there, the next you couldn't and actions/accounts were being pulled. I'm assuming that it'll be the same way closer to the release of the PS3.

I was gonna get 3 PS3's opening day (i got two brothers that were going to stand in, I'de pay for them and split the profit 80/10/10) but when I heard the slightest rumor about the eBay situation I backed out. Why? Because eBay's known to do **** like this without a moments hesitation.
