PS3: "This Is Living"

 -> that about sums it up.

It's entirely real, but I thought this was only for Europe?

This vid and the fact that both Pro Evo and FIFA are not going to be on the PS3 for at least 12 more months just gave away the next-gen console race in Europe to Microsoft.

First the PS3 is a Computer & now it's living playing the PS3 ? That's Sony for ya

THE FACT THAT THEY ESSENTIALLY THUMBED THEIR COLLECTIVE NOSES AT EUROPE, BY NOT SHOWING ONE THING AT 'LEIPZIG', FOR 'PS3', IS VERY TELLING OF HOW THEY VIEW THE EUROPEAN MARKET. THEY'VE SAVED EVERYTHING FOR THEIR JAPANESE "PUPPETS" AT THE 'TOKYO GAME SHOW' NEXT MONTH ; THEY DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT EUROPE. :o

YOU HAVE TO GIVE 'MS' CREDIT.......THEY MAKE A SOLID SHOWING EVERYWHERE......AND PUT A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF EFFORT INTO MARKETS THEY KNOW THEY CAN'T EVEN PENETRATE.

You're insane if you think Sony doesn't care about Europe.

When you realize how crappy the 360 does in Europe, and the dominance of the Sony brand, I don't really think so. It will be a nice boost for the 360 but nothign spectacular when there are other versions of the game ready to be bought for the same people who are buying 100 thousand PS2's each week.

O'RLY? WELL, PLEASE, BY ALL MEANS, EXPLAIN THEIR SHUNNING OF 'LEIPZIG' THEN.

I thought that the entire Lepzig Games Conference blew this year. Personally I give Microsoft the win for that conference. Sony showed nothing and Nintendo didn't give out enough information.

Got any numbers to back that statement up? I would be curious to see what constitutes the fastest selling console in Europe, like does it mean it sold out of the stores faster than any other? Based on the major shortages at the relase of the system I would not think too highly that it sold out so quick.

Was it the fastest to hit 100,000 units sold or what? Show us some numbers.

All of this information was released during Liepzig

On a weekly basis, PS2 outselling 360 100k to 18k. (BTW, the 100k/week means that the Europe is substantially ahead of the US in PS2 sales currently.

- 45% of SCEE's sales are outside of Europe (this is pretty mindboggling IMO). Russia, Middle East, Australia, NZ, etc). I'd have to imagine that because the HW releases were staggered over years, they are in a different part of the PS2 adoption curve than US & Europe.

- Germany 2006 HW Stats - PS2 61%, GC 17%, XBX 15%, 360 7%

- Germany 2006 SW Stats - PS2 69%, GC 11%, XBX 11%, 360 9%

- Germany 2006 HH HW Stats - DS 71%, PSP 29% (not including GBA)

- Germany 2006 HH SW Stats - DS 62%, PSP 38% (not including GBA

This comes from Sonycowboy and has been referenced in a news article, if you do visit GAF, you'll know he's reliable.

And you don't really need to try and belittle me. It's like, not needed. I never make a statement about stuff like this without having 'the numbers'. :|

Even so, how does that help the PS3? I believe the primary reason for the PS2's dominance in Europe was because it had the better selection of soccer games, something the Xbox comparitively lacked in, plus it wasn't until much later that the Xbox got a Pro Evo of it's own, which definitely hurt it's sales. Believe me when I say, soccer moves a ****load of systems in Europe and you'll see how 360's sales will jump through the roof during Holiday season when people learn they won't be able to get their hands on an alternative system for playing next-gen soccer (FIFA or Pro Evo) for at least 6 more months. Plus the European price tag of the PS3 is definitely going to turn many people away.

I have logic, and the numbers released are real. Seriously guys stop this shooting the messenger thing and get over it.

And like, Fenrir, I'll totally be responding as soon as the workload has died down (at work).
