Is it ok to stand my PS3 up on it's side? Like this:

Will it damage my discs if it's standing up like that?

Mine has been in the same spot for the past year and a half on its side. I have it like that mainly bc its the only way I can fit it on my dresser with my speakers and HDTV

Yeah thank god we can stand the PS3 up that way I wouldn't have room in my TV stand otherwise.

Hehehe of course thats alright, it was designed to be in either position... You see that Playstation logo just below the disc tray? Twist it round and see what happens :oldrazz:

Since this question has been answered can I get some help with my question? I'm trying to set up my internet connection with my ps3 but I'm so lost its funny......but its not. :csad: Can someone help me or walk me through it?

This maybe a stupid question...but who's that chick in your avvy, Docker?

Oh, and I'm happy to hear that standing it or flattened it's okay.

I had my 360 standing for a bit...and noticed some wierd sounds, I think some light scratches on some discs. Kept it flat ever since.

are you connecting it wired or wireless?

Hey! This isn't about Miss Jolie in my Avy its about me getting internet service for my PS3! :cmad:

Havok I was going to try to go wireless but the crap is to complicated. :csad: I have a cable that I hooked up directly to my modem but the crap STILL doesn't work. :( What am I doing wrong?!

silly question, but did you follow the instructions in the manual? I had a bit of trouble at first myself, until I read that

Well I bought my PS3 used from Gamestop and there wasn't a manual to come with it. Dumb on my part! :cmad:

If it's anything like my 360...hooking it up to my wireless router was a major pain.

You have sync like 3 or 4 very long codes, to get them to hook up. Might depend on the level of secuirty on the router.

I already had my wireless router hooked up and running for my laptop, all I had to do was enter a 9 (or more)
digit WEP code from the bottom of my router, and I was good to go. Real simple.
I also got mine used from Gamestop, with no manual. Playstation's PS3 website has all the info, including the manual, you'll need to get hooked up.

I think once you've done it, it's easy. But when it's your first time trying to connect it, it's just confusing.

Just make sure to look at the names of the codes...like Bathead said, a WEP code and others, and then type in those exact codes into the same names in the PS3. That should allow them to both access eachother and play nice.

after my 360 disc(and system **** up) scratch standing a system up is my ultimate fear...

i will never do it again lol

Yeah....I'll never leave my Xbox standing ever again either. I learned the same way you did.

I'm assuming the PS3 won't do the same. Just assuming.

Well it is a better system and the Blu-rays being scratch resistent kinda helps ALOT!

They're scratch resistent?

That's...the coolest thing I've heard in the past 24 hours.

I've got another stupid question. Something I hadn't thought about until yesterday, actually.

So, I've got a PS3...with the new Dualshock 3 wireless controller underneath my tree right now. I plan on going to Best Buy tonight and buying another Dualshock 3 contoller as well.

My question is about the battery life. How...does it charge? I've heard mention of a USB cable connector, but I've seen it does NOT come with the PS3. From what I've looked up, the controller does not take regular batteries, either. So, can anyone help shed some insight on this one for me?

You just hook it up to the PS3 and it charges it as long as the PS3 is on.
