Chappelle had already said that he wanted to stop the show because it reinforced the stereotypes of the black community.
people just chose to ignore that and believe that he "went crazy" because it just adds to the drama that people love.

and i could see anyone with imense clout and power being threatening. and it never said that he was personally "violent", just that he was intimidating. Farrakahn was the pawn used for actual violence and threats.

I used 50 cent as an example, but Cosby has been having feuds with people going all the way back to the `70s. He's had feuds with people from Richard Pryor to 50 cent.

Yeah, I had a good laugh at this as well. We had fun speculating how real it was too.

Charlie Murphy and another co-writer of the Chapelle show wrote it as a rough draft idea for the show. They never got around to doing as the Chapelle show fell through for that season. Dave said he probably wouldn't have done it anyway, as he knew it would further alienate him from those 'good' people. For this and other reasons, Dave and Charlie have been on the 'outs'.... at least at that time.
