So anyways, over the weekend my sister asked me to look at my nieces computer since it wasnt working anymore and hadnt been for like a month.

After about 3 hours i got the computer back up and running and back on their broadband connection. Just as soon as her computer boots up her MSN pops up and someone on the other end says "what's goin on sweet thing? Cant wait to see you again."

Normally this wouldnt bother me cept that my neice is only 13. So i just check out this persons profile quick and see that it's a 19 year old college kid from town...

At this point i just shut her MSN down and walk away. I tell my sister that my neices computer is workin again and i go home.

Two days later this feeling like i have to tell my sister something is eating me up. Should i tell her and her husband?

Tell her now before the baby has a baby. :cmad:

**** yeah you do. Should have done it when the message popped up and you found out he was 19.

if it was your daughter would you want to be told?

I can't believe people.

I have to believe that if the story was true and that he had stumbled upon this possibly illegal flirtation while doing maintenance, he wouldn't hesitate to tell someone.

Therefore, I say Zaed was snooping.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with snooping. I have a 15 year old daughter and I snoop CONSTANTLY.

There is no right to privacy from your parents when you're a kid, especially in today's ****ed up world full of sicko, child-molesting/murdering predators.

screw you wilhelm, i wasnt snooping.
her msn popped up when i booted it up and the message popped up.

if you think otherwise you can eat $hit.

It can't be considered "snooping" if you were ASKED to fix the computer. Wilhelm is just being whacky.

Oh, man, I'd hate to have you as a dad:csad:

I guess one of the joys of having a Malcolm in the Middle complex is that your parents tend to give you the benefit of the doubt about things.

NOT RESPECTING A CHILD'S RIGHT TO PRIVACY, ESPECIALLY FOR A CHILD IN THEIR TEENS IS A SIGN THAT YOU DON'T RESPECT YOUR CHILD. CHILDREN AT THAT AGE NEED THEIR PRIVACY.

Are you sure it was actually someone she knew and not just a bot? I've had dozens of those things pop up on my various IM programs from Bots trying to get my attention. They are obviously bots cause they always say the same thing. The one time I did try and find out who it was they tried to direct me to a website...porn of course. And I looked of course. :P

What the hell? This story is bogus, noone in their right mind wouldn't tell the parents if this happened.

At age 13? I can understand at age 16,17 hell mayber 15 - but you are still a kid when you are 13.

He mentioned his daughter was 15, that's what we were referring to.

There's only one thing to do and that's tell them, if she was a little older she could make her own mind up but because she is only 13 anything can happen, even if it means she hates you the parents still need to be told

I'd say 16-17 is the the time to let kids have their own privacy.

PLEASE tell someone! A situation like this one no matter how harmless it seems usually turns out to be a bad experience. But I feel for you cause I cant even imagine how delicate this situation must be.

Tell someone, because imagine if she gets raped, and/or pregnant.

You saw the MSN message, but you ignored it.

Do something. If you don't, you might be a great uncle soon.

This message brought to you by farmerfran.

Snitch don't let her be one of those child predators stories.

Snitches get stitches. :cmad:

But seriously, tell like the wind!

these cries for attention are funny, 'cause, say it's unanimous. Every member of the Hype says "Tell her parents. TELL her parents!!!"

Does anyone think that in reality, he was just 100% confused and now that the Hype said to tell, he'll be any more likely to do so?

No, please don't tell on me. :(

I mean her...don't tell on her. your niece. don't

Tell them. Now. To do otherwise would be irresponsible.
