Punisher 2 update

Thomas Jane talked to MTV about The Punisher 2:

According to series star Thomas Jane, the wheels are in motion for him to slip that trademark skull onto his chest again soon for "The Punisher 2." "The script comes in a couple of weeks, and it's going to be darker, bloodier and more unfriendly than the first one," Jane confirmed.

The first film was released in 2004

Has a director been mentioned at all besides Hensleigh not coming back? All we keep getting is news about the script which at this stage has been written it seems several diffrent times.

It's gonna be a director tied to LGF which is why I think maybe Hayter or Roth might be involved in this one. If not it would be a director not attached to a big studio who'd do something like this. Hayter's been real quiet since Black Widow fell out.

Last thing Jane said in August was that they were looking for a new director.But that was 3 months ago now.

It would be nice if they could make annoucement when the extended dvd is released.

I asked Steve Niles (who knows Jane) along with a few other questions...and he didn't answer that one. LOL I'm still waiting for a response from two others. LOL So we're in the dark for now...unless Jane is writing it. Hmmmm.

I wouldn't mind if they went with Hayter.He's a good writer and was very close to directing both Watchmen and Black Widow.

there will probably be more news with the release of the special edition dvd - the sequel probably depends on the SE doing well to be made. Im in region 2 zone but i'm going to get the region 1 version to help sales. Support the character - make the sequel!

How could it depend on how the SE DVD is going? Everyone who's not a fan and liked the movie have probably bought it by now, or seen it on TV. People will buy it, the fans. That's who I think that DVD is aimed after. I don't think the suits are saying "Well, it sold well a couple of years ago... umm, I guess it's not a market for it anymore, call Phil, we are not making that sequel! ps. How is Dirty Dancing 3 coming along?"
