The Punisher: Who Else Auditioned?

This is something I think about constantly. Don't get me wrong, Thomas Jane made a great punisher, but I would really like to know who else (if anyone) was considered or auditioned for Frank Castle before Jane was chosen.

This thread can also be used to state who you personally wanted to see as the man with the skull.

Glad he didn't get casted as Frank.

He's cool and all as Wolvie, albeit he's too tall IMO but lets not be nitpicky, but I couldn't se him as Frank.

I wouldn't like him as Frank either, to be honest, I didn't like him as Wolverine. It worked in that world but it's far from the wolverine I knew

If he bulked up and acted harder Eric Mabius would make a decent Frank, he bares some resemblance to Frank, and actually happens to look alot like Max Payne, which was an obvious rip off of The Punisher

That's a lie. Nothing about this has ever been said by Hensleigh, Avi Arad or even Tom. Hugh Jackman never said he wanted to play the Punisher. Jonathan Hensleigh himself said that he only wanted and asked Tom Jane first to play the Punisher. If Eric Mabius looks like Max Payne then he doesn't look like the Punisher since those characters don't look alike.
