Well, it wasn't a great role, but she gave a really good performance with what she had, I'll say that.

There's a quick scene in the movie where she's drunk and it's supposed to be a funny scene and she really nails it. :p

Yeah, Fanning's drunk scene was quite funny. It got some pretty good lulz from the audience I was in. :D:up:

It kind of annoys me to see a lot of people already trying to rag on this movie. I thought this was a solid Sci-Fi film with a surprisingly well fleshed out world, and that is rare for movie that is not adapted from something else. It always disappoints me when something new finally comes along and people attack it, because that only encourages Hollywood to make more remakes, sequels, adaptations, and reboots. :(

The more things change, the more things stay the same. :D

This wasn't that bad...certainly more than I expected and it felt like it dragged a bit towards the end. Overall, a good powers movie and damn Dakota was a little skank. I thought she was going to try and seduce Evans with her Chinese drank and her mini skirt:o It sets up for a sequel so I wouldn't be surprised if they green light Push 2.

7.5/10 = 8

Camilla Belle is the only reason i would watch this flick.

what kind of math is this....? can you just give it a 7 or an 8...do you have to get all technical??

Or even in 2nd grade math, you learn that you round .5 up, so he voted 8 on the pool :)

You guys are harsh on films. Was this great? No. Was it fun with a good story? Yes.

Haven't seen this yet, but it'd be disappointing to see such a great concept milked for action.

so to those that saw this... was it any good?

i could care less about the story or acting... was the action ok?

this coming from someone who enjoyed Jumper very much

Then don't see Push.

Movie was good. I enjoyed the story and the acting. It was great how it created its own little universe and I really can't wait for the eventual Push 2: Electric Boogaloo. The action was great when it happened, not enough to call this a straight action movie though, but the use of powers was amazing and blew Heroes out of the water. This movie does super powers right and is the better for it.

And this movie is so much more than Heroes: The Movie... if anything Heroes would be lucky to be called "Push: The TV Show."

I think a lot of that comes from this growing mindset that being wowed, amazed, or surprised by something makes you look less intelligent about a specific film or subject....so people seem to be adopting this "bash first, begrudgingly accept later" type philosophy....also people who have no concept of story structure, pacing, etc seem to think their fan fiction is much much superior to anything else and look at something like 'Push' as beneath them....

This wasn't any different than " Jumpers " a solid 7.

And sometimes bad is just bad.

There are a lot of variations of Coke, M&Ms, and other stuff released every year and gone the next. Doesn't mean some people didn't like it, but the majority of people weren't convinced it was worth the money.

Id agree...I was just making a statement as it speaks to criticism....

Do you see a 7-8 on the voting poll:huh: It's not an 8 and it isn't a 7...so therefore a 7.5:cwink: It was really a 7.499874528498573739475739327595038 but I just rounded it up k thanks.

Oh.Ok.

I think the mindset is inevitable in the fast-pace marketing world we live in now. It's not that the movie itself is necessarily bad or good, but marketing of products has created this hunger of anticipation beforehand for every movie that it's almost impossible to reach. Put on top of that the fact that marketing also pushes(no pun intended) the comparisons on us. If you like A then you have to try B to get butts in the theater. People will compare a movie to everything it resembles where or not the whole thing together is what makes it original.

I enjoyed the movie. I thought it was fun. I never expect mind blowing acting from sci-fi/action films so it was okay to me. I thought the film moved very fast though. If you leave to go to the bathroom for 5 minutes or so you might get lost or so. I thought the score was very interesting too.

If you're expecting some thought provoking film then this is not it. It's a fun movie.

My number one gripe with this film was Dakota Fannings' skirt. OMG too short for someone her age!

Did you people watch the same film, there wasn't anything fresh and new in this movie, already a few posted that it looks like Jumper so obviously there's a slight similarity which doesn't make it fresh and new now does it?

There wasn't any action in the first hour unless you count exploding fish tanks as action scenes and there was a lot of talking that didn't add to the non-existential plot.

I can see that your expectations is probably what hurt you the most.

Personally, I was expecting garbage. A totally unwatchable movie, but also a very low-key and gritty sci-fi movie with a lot of cliches, bad acting, and not a whole lot of action ya know. I mean, I wasn't walking in expecting Michael Bay/George Lucas explosions and CG laser beams every 10 minutes. If they did that, then they'd really be more like movies like Jumper or whatever (there's still barely any strong similarities, IMO).

Due to the setting and its modest scope alone, I think this is the kind of movie to develop a decent following in a few years.

Looks like Jumper?

Yeah, on the surface it looks like Jumper 2: We Promise It Won't Completely Suck This Time. Government goes after people with powers. With that logic, Memento is just the Fugitive 2: Now With Memory problems... man tries to find wife's killer.

Wait. Did you go in just expecting a mindless action flick? And then hated it when they tried to work in a story?
