ABC's promotion of this show was practically nil. Pushing Daisies routinely scored in the top 2 for it's timeslot and top 5 for the night all through the first season. Then, the strike happened. Since the second season started, it's been 4th in the timeslot every time and hasn't been higher than 10th for the night. Coming off the strike, following a nine month absence, the network didn't seem to care about anything except Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy and the new Life on Mars show. Ads for those things were everywhere. PD, not so much.As much as I'd like to direct all my loathing and hatred towards ABC, can't say all the blame are on them. If people don't watch and rating is bad, how can we expect them to continue. It's the audience's fault. How can they accept so many spin-off shows (how many CSI do we need, people?) and not something that's original like PD?
How many episodes will there be for Season 2 and what episode is the show at now? Jerks (referring to all who are responsible for the cancellation)! Just release the DVD and let me watch it already!![]()
Olive... Ned... Emerson... Chuck... I'll miss you.![]()
Especially Chi McBride. That man makes the whole show for me. Emerson is one of the most lovable characters I've encountered on television, largely due to McBride's performance.Yeah. If the comic book does happen it'll like be just like I am with the Buffy and Angel comics.
''These are great and all but I want the actors." Chenowith, McBride, Pace, Friel, Green, and Kurtz make their roles. It just won't be the same without them.
maybe if we all send a bunch of daisies to abc's offices they'll put it back.

I recall seeing the Season 1 promotion while I was still living in WA. First time I saw it, I thought, "What a quirky show! I MUST SEE it!" I don't know what happened but I never did see it while on TV. Due to my move, I suppose?ABC's promotion of this show was practically nil. To leave a show that only had nine episodes coming into this season virtually on its own, with no attempt whatsoever to throw a 'final push' behind it, is ridiculous. They saw the ratings were floundering and didn't seem to care. It was nominated for 10 Emmys, a few other awards and had received a favorable reaction in a number of critics circles. I find plenty of fault in them not making an effort to increase viewership. I'm not of the mind that such would have absolutely resulted in higher ratings, but it certainly stood a better chance of doing so than the route they took.
There are 13 episodes in Season 2 and 7 remaining.
How do you think it'll end for Chuck and Ned? Ned loses his power and therefore able to really be with Chuck? What about Olive? Will she end up with... Alfredo? Is Alfredo even in Season 2?That's what's going to make it suck even worse. Those two crazy kids deserve their fairy tale ending, dammit!
I don't usually take to shows like this, nor do I make it a practice to 'root' for favorable outcomes for characters. This has particularly burned my biscuit.![]()
But as Olive sang... "I'm hopelessly devoted to you (PD)".maybe if we all send a bunch of daisies to abc's offices they'll put it back.

I know you've told me a little bit about the story involving Emerson... how did that go? Do I want to find our from you or should I wait to find out for myself when the DVD is out? O the wait...But as Olive sang... "I'm hopelessly devoted to you (PD)".

I think they might have planned on something like that, but everything I've heard points to the show ending on a cliffhanger. I don't think there will be a 'proper' ending for any of the characters, unless it's communicated by producers in some online story. I've also heard rumblings about a movie, but I really don't see that happening. How do you think it'll end for Chuck and Ned? Ned loses his power and therefore able to really be with Chuck? What song was Olive singing?
