Drama Pushing Daisies

Its so sad watching a new Pushing Daises. How I despise ABC for canceling my pride and joy.

You know what gets me? They have to have a ton of shows that had less viewers than Pushing daises, and they're still on the air. I mean, who the hell was watching brothers and Sisters? Seriously? And that gets to stay while this infinitely better show gets s**t canned? bah.

It was great to have it back again but it will be sad to see it go after the final 2 episodes are over.

After skimming ratings news, on average, about twice as many people watch that than PD.

Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because its more simple? And it has DH as a lead in. While PD a brand new show had no lead in and was a lead in for PP which was also a new show and totally different and was already more well known, plus it didnt help that they kept it off the air for almost a year. Oh and they never promoted it..I have a lot of anger about this shows terriable cancellation.

I don't much bother with lambasting networks for show promotion (largely because there isn't that much on TV that I care about), but ABC's handling of this gem was atrocious.

Having a chance to see another ep last night (and again this morning) just brought back how good I feel this show is. I love these characters, their interactions and the general quirky nature.

It's like Arrested Development, the show was too smart and quirky for the general audience. I really liked this show, I thought I'd hate it at first, but the world that's created from the show is so incredible you can't help but like it.

Only one ep left. :(

Old news, but I didn't see it mentioned. It fills out the earlier rumblings about a DC Comics line.

Apparently, they shot something to resemble an effective close for the series, as opposed to the cliffhanger that stood at the original ending.

‘Pushing Daisies’ TV Series Finds Life After Cancellation At DC Comics
“Pushing Daisies’” pie-making protagonist Ned isn’t the only one with the power to bring the dead back to life. Series creator Bryan Fuller has resurrected ABC’s canceled television series at DC Comics — at least for twelve issues.

In an interview with E! Online, Fuller described the first new storyline as a fresh take on the zombie genre starring all of the characters from the show.

“It’s basically Chuck, Ned, Emerson and Olive versus 1,000 corpses, so it becomes a zombie movie, but the zombies are articulate and smart and can do things that no other zombies can do. The Pie-Maker versus 1,000 corpses,” said Fuller.

This isn’t the first comic book incarnation of the series, a special one-shot issue was distributed at the 2007 Comic-Con International in San Diego with a cover by artist and fellow “Heroes” contributor Tim Sale. No artist for the new series has been announced yet, but Fuller said he hoped to have new artwork as a giveaway at the DC booth during this summer’s Comic-Con as well.

After two seasons, the final three “Pushing Daisies” installments will air for three weeks beginning May 30. A special ending was written to effectively bring the television show to a close, but Fuller seemed determined to keep the comic book series alive for the foreseeable future.

“I literally just finished outlining the 12-episode arc, which has an ending that propels us into another big story, so it’s kind of blackmailing [DC] into ordering more comics, but we’ll see if that’ll happen,” said Fuller.

Its already out for you? Not for us. And they didnt even show PD yesterday night here just so they could show some stupid concert.

Exactly!

ABC wastes air time on a ridiculous show about people falling on their fat a$$es like WipeOut and stupid atrocities like the Bachelor and Bachelorette but gets rid of a funny, mysterious show with cool characters and stories like Pusihing Daisies is unreal.

Some ABC executives are smoking stuff that isn't very good!

No, it's really not that hard to understand why they do that. It's reason that's been around for a long time: the almighty dollar. Reality shows like the ones you listed are insanely cheap to produce compared to scripted shows. No big star salaries to pay. Pretty much no writers or big name directors needed. No incredibly stylized sets that need to be built each week. Those shows bring in the ratings and then they can charge advertisers the same that they do for scripted shows, but make more money in the end because the put less into the reality shows. It's not hard to see why. I don't like it and I'm sure no one else does either, but that's usually why it happens.

Finale episode airs tonight.:csad: I'm really going to miss this show. I keep thinking that since Dead Like Me got a DTV movie that perhaps Pushing Daisies could maybe get one as well but I suppose ABC won't bother so I guess I'll just look forward to the comic book.

It was a great finale, they actually tied up some loose ends and didn't end with a cliffhanger.

Now I just want to see their continued lives. For me it gave very little closure, and just made me ask more questions.

Man, where was this show going? The reveal of Chuck instead of forcing it for 5 seasons like most shows.

Decent ending. Keeps the whole, the ADVENTURE CONTINUES... like feel.

The only way I could see it happening is if the comic sells really well. Like in the Top 10. That might convince them a DTV movie would be profitable.

Gotta disagree.

Emerson got his daughter back, the one thing he wanted most in the world.

Olive managed to move on from Ned to Randy and open a restaurant of her own on the side.

Chuck and Ned managed to stay happy and to finally bring her aunts in on the fact that she was alive.

They gave enough closure that you feel happy for them and not as disappointed that you won't be able to see them in live-action anymore, but left enough that you want to still hear from them in the upcoming comic series.

Felt kinda tacked on. Wasn't a proper ending. Not what the show deserved. Still, pretty good though. :(

I am a little bummed I will never find out if Charles were to die again. Could Ned revive her?

Certainly tacked on, but given the circumstances, I'm glad they did it. If it had ended on an actual cliffhanger as originally planned, I'd have flipped.

I liked the general tone of how things were handled. The end sweep over different locations that figured into the show (the windmills, the lighthouse, the dam, etc.) was a nice touch. All in all, it was very 'fairy tale' and consistent with the show.

*I'll have to see what these zany kids get into through the comics.

I'm also glad we got another Emerson "Oh, hell no" moment. Not as enthusiastic (and comical) and others, but I'll take what I can get . :D
