Right, I'm REALLY useless with this stuff so bare with me.

Am I going to NEED to HD TV to play the PS3? Will a blu ray disc in a PS3 work on a regular TV (with out the HDness obviously)? Cause I'm just really worried about having to fork over another £600-700 just to play me PS3.

I'm sorry I don't know this stuff. :(

NO.

You can play your PS3 on any TV. If you ever do get an HD TV make sure you get a real 1080i TV (Most of the HD TVs that say 1080i don't actually display true 1080i) or go for a 1080P TV as by the time you get one eventually the prices will have gone down and 1080P TVs display 1080i in its native form as well as being able to do 1080P.
