I've always liked Batman and was a huge fan of the Animated series by Timm and Dini. I was wondering, in the mainstream comics was Batman portrayed that way? If so, what TPB would be good for me to collect? I love their version of Batman.

well dini writes Detective Comics now....and he's been on it for a while so they came out with 2 tpbs with all his work on detective on them....the first ones called "Detective" and the second one is called "Batman: Death in the City"...there both pretty good, you'll probably like them

Other than that, there's the Batman Adventures issues and TPBs, but I don't think that's the mainstream you're looking for.

portrayed what way in particular? what do you like about it? There is (was) several series set in the DC Animated universe, drawn and written in the same style. but imo they're not that great, not the same standard as the TV show at least.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of comics that are similar in a way that you'll like

I'd also strongly recommend Batman: Detective and Batman: Death in the City
