Just wondering was Jared Padalecki one of the actors considered for the role of Clark Kent on Smallville?

hmm i dont think so, i know jensen ackles mentioned he tried out. If i recall when smallville started jared was already in that gilmore girls show. which started i believe a yr prior to smallville starting.

However, his IMDB page says he was considered for the 'Superman reboot' at one point.

They must mean Superman Returns which was looking for Clark/Superman the year before Supernatural started in 2005.

yea i think he among others like aston kutcher and what not where many of the guys being looked at or tested during the mcg/ratner days before singer came on and it turned into superman returns.
