i can watch .mov files fine, for the most part, and my quicktime is (or should be) up to date...but for some reason when i try to watch movie trailers at apple.com i get this:
appletrailrs.jpg

when i mentioned this elsewhere, someone mentioned a quicktime alternative program which was supposed to automaticaly download quicktime files or something, but that doesnt seem to help any (Though i can still watch .movs elsewhere with this program).
How do i fix this?

First thing I would try is a complete uninstall and then reinstall of Quicktime.

You have QT 7 installed right? because all the trailers now need 7 to play

Hm.

As soon as I uninstalled QT, the "quicktime alternative" thing I was directed to kicked in and now it all plays fine. So thanks, working now.

so.. should that work for me too?

Do you have Quicktime AND the Quicktime alternative kypade's talking about both installed?
