I was looking at the video where Doug Walker (Nostalgia Critic) quits his job, I guess right after TGWTG started, and I noticed that a few people have copied how he did it.

So, if it ever came to a point where you decided to quit your job for one reason or another and wanted to do it in some sort of style; how would you do it?

probably just walk in and say I quit. I'd do it politely as I would probably later ask for a recommendation from said previous job. side note: How did Walker do it?

Stop coming into work. hahahah.

Then I'll let all the IDs for that identity sit in a drawer and collect unemployment while moving onto my next set.

I think it was pretty damn funny and it's nice that is former coworkers were able to get a laugh out of it. I've quit jobs before and generally I try to be nice. Although when I was in high school I quit a job by changing my boss's Windows shutdown music to "Take this job and shove it" by the Dead Kennedys.

You should probably just be polite. A good reference goes a long way.

But at the same time you only live once...which is why I eat Taco Bell, even though it causes a traffic jam in my stomach.

Damn, It feels Good to be a Gangsta scene from Office Space.

There is no other way.

I once quit a job by just not showing up anymore, when they called to see why I wasn't there I answered the phone with "I quit". It was the job I had my last semester in college at Best Buy, I quit about a week after Thanksgiving, they probably still hate me. Don't care though, I was moving out of the town and didn't plan on asking them for a reference anyway. I did actually get employee of the month once, I showed up to that meeting still drunk from the night before.

I had one frriend quit by positioning his chair right next to the fax machine, he faxed one page saying I quit at 9am that would fall right onto the chair.

Doing that in the lunchroom was Ok...once he started going through the rest of the building it becomes too much. With all the stories on the news of an ex employee going postal and attacking the other workers...he's lucky someone didn't think he was about to attack and tackled him.

I regret never going through with my plan to quit Fry's when I quit Fry's. As a training supervisor in the Software section, I had the power to play around with the TV's playing demos of concerts and movies and stuff. We always joked around about putting porn on the TVs (because yes, Fry's Electronics sells porn. Find your local store today) and walking away. My plan was a little less vulgar.

I wanted to create a CD with either Pat Benatar's "Invincible" or "Love Is A Battlefield," or Simple Minds' "Don't You Forget About Me" from The Breakfast Club soundtrack. I'd put the CD on, then march out the door while taking off my necktie. I'd leave my badge and padlock keys with the door greeter, throw my fist into the air, and walk away.

I never went through with it. I just called in one day and said "I quit." A missed opportunity...

If I quit, I'd do it politely even if I hated the job. Burning bridges is senseless.

I worked at a movie theatre for 5 years and was still making under $6 an hour in 2005, I got a job at our casino as security and started off making twice as much as I did before and still worked both jobs for about a week. I walked out on the job at the theatre and just told them I couldn't do it anymore.

I've never really QUIT a job. I've always found a better job, put in 2 weeks notice and departed gracefully!

2 weeks notice is the right way out, even though it blows.

My job is creating Facebook profiles, that are store specific, to not only show customers what we do in the community, but also to spy on it's employee's profiles.
