R.I.P Blockbuster

I could've sworn the local Blockbuster has been doing this for over a year now. That's why I haven't rented anything in years. All Blockbuster is good for now is buying cheap DVDs.

Blockbuster made a mistake not having something like RedBox in stores.

As pathetic as it is for a comic book geek, I very rarely rent/buy movies anyway.

I'm pretty sure BB has a program similar to Netflix, with the added bonus of being able to exchange the movies at the store.

umm id rather walk to my mail-box than drive to a store.. lol
blockbuster charges alot more for renting online too... and on top of that it cost evennn more to be able to turn it in at the store.
11.99 for one dvd at a time at BB
15.99 for three dvds at a time at netflix (4.99 for one) lol

netflix lets you stream instantly on your comp, tv, ps3, xbox360, and soon to be wii...

they are doomed or have morons running BB

I haven't rented anything from them in years....I buy used DVDs when they have a decent deal...but that's it.

So we all agree that Blockbuster sucks? Great, now let us go outside and eat lots of cake.

Well, to be fair....I don't rent from redbox either.

Redbox isn't so bad, but they never have anything good. It's mostly B-movies that nobody wants to watch. It's a good concept, but it doesn't always deliver. Thank goodness there are about 50 of them within driving distance of me.

never even heard of redbox.. lol

They're all over the place where I live. They're outside half the fast food joints, grocery stores, and Wal-Marts.

It's a dollar a day rental box usually found in stores. You swipe your card and a movie comes out. It's a neat concept, but like E-Man said the good stuff is usually gone.

eh, mine closed in January and I got some sweet deals from them selling all their DVD's. I count on Hollywood Video now but it seems as though that one might get closed down as well :(

Don't care much for the movies as much as the video game rentals.

And yet, Netflix is still better. :awesome:

Plus they still have the biggest selection. I think.

damn, right when i was thinking of going to Blackbuster this happens

oh yeahhh... i never paid attention to those things.
looks like they can only hold like 20 movies.

and i wouldnt wanna be standing there for an hour deciding what i wanna rent (that they also have)

You may or may not remember me posting a thread a few weeks back about applying to Blockbuster and being nervous about how the interview would go. Good news is I got the job and I've been working there ever since. Better news is that this whole process has helped give me the experience needed to give another great interview in 6 months when I am unemployed again. :cmad:

Blockbuster is still around? All the nearby stores closed down months ago.

I don't download from torrents. Most the stuff comes out in a bad quality. I'll stick to my Netflix/Instant Streaming. :o
