This series is getting beyond a joke now, Issue 3 is almost FOUR MONTHS LATE.

That's just disgusting. What happened to deadlines?

Another example of a hollywood ego thinking comics are easy to write and taking more they can handle. Sigh.

It would be the issue where they actually fight, too, even if it is in another pointless flashback.

Why anyone would even buy the first issue of that series is beyond me. Hey look, Hulk can rip Wolverine in half! Isn't that cool?!

     I thought it was canon by now, any Ultimate mini is doomed to fail.

Apparently this mini was suppose to be the introduction of ultimate Wendigo. All the anticipation and excitment I got from this mini has all but left

It's actually quite well written, its just getting the guy to stick to damn deadlines. Marvel have gotten really lax with deadlines.

And if you haven't read it, you can't really pass judgement on it's quality, either.

Oh yeah I could.

Uh... Yeah. I thought so anyway. :(

You could, but it would make you sound quite, quite stupid.

''Hey that book sucks'''

''wow, have you read it?''

''um....no''

Great logic.

I know crap when I see it. I dont have to watch Little Man to know its a piece of crap movie.

Just look at the track record of every Ultimate mini to date. Ultimate War-sucked. Ultimate Six-sucked. Ultimate Gah-Lak-Tus-sucked, and Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk-sucks just on the basis of its premise and lateness.

wrong about ultimate war.

never read ultimate six.

ultimate galactus book one didnt suck, two kinda sucked, havent read three ( but i guess some people want a goofy guy in a purple hat lol ;) )

ultimate wolverine hasnt sucked story wise.

do you read the ultimates? im guessing not or you would (or should) know it works into the storylines perfectly, or are you one of these people that hates anything ultimates regardless of how much it kicks 616 ass?

Ultimates isnt a mini:o

But yes ive read it and think its good, along with UFF by Millar. I choose not to buy them however, and that really has no merit in this discussion.

When has the Ultimate Universe ever been better than 616? Even with Marvel's lagging quality lately, 616 still outshines Ultimate by a wide margin.

Well, I liked the title (obviously why it is in my signature) but this really sucks. Not only that if it ever does come out, I'll probably pass it because I won't care anymore.

ULTIMATE WOLVERINE VS. HULK is simply another example of Marvel being so desperate to attract the "cool kid" writers from Hollywood that they'll throw them ANY project under the sun, regardless of the fact that for most, comic writing is clearly their 'hobby' job and they're under little obligation to not let issues fall very, very late. Marvel made this mistake with Kevin Smith and hasn't learned since.

Of course, when the EIC of Marvel apparently has no idea of how his day-to-day schedule will compound his ability to write/draw a monthly mini series, perhaps expecting them to be more efficient in planning series elsewhere is asking a bit.

The bottom line is the first two issues sold well. They got your money. So its a success. Issue #3 will come out on the 11th of "whenever the hell we feel like it" and it'll sell well too, and whatever. The reason why Marvel is so quick to spit out books without seeming to be able to fathom whether they'll ship on time or not is simple; they want your money, and to strike while the iron is hot. One could say that some "setbacks" are impossible to predict, but on the other hand, a failure to be able to predict certain setbacks in the current comic medium, espeically when things like late books are hardly a "new" problem, is inefficient at best.

I'm annoyed when TPBs are supposed to be out (I'm looking at YOU, Walking Dead!) and the first half of the comics aren't even finished yet. I mean for the most part it hasn't been that bad but recently alot of comics are coming out, not just a few weeks, but a few months late. We need to kick the Co.'s in the pants to get them working right again.

I believe number 3 comes out either next week or the week after.

It was a lot more than Hulk ripping Wolverine in half, but whatever justifies you not liking it...fine by me. :)

there's been worse. how long did kevin smith take? im waiting on a Hunter-Killer issue that was due out last october! oh dear...

I hope you're right about the number three coming out, but that doesn't help the fact that they still haven't solicted the number 4 which means another three month wait just for that. :(

I got copies of 1 and 2 if anyone wants them.

Urich what's this lagging quality you speak of?Sure every company has it's duds but I could name you at least 5 books which have been consistent since the get go.

In your opinion.

In mine :

ultimate spidey has been outshining 616 for a good while now.

Ultimate x-men is better than 616 (though i am trade waiting for brubaker)

And ultimates vs new avengers? Well make mine ultimate again.

I dropped 616 FF post waid so I dunno but millar's run has been excellent.

I was really liking it too. I hope your right about #3 SpideyInATree.:(
