Family Guy is a complete rip off of Simpsons.

Yes it is, and that video you posted didn't even cover all of the jokes that Family Guy has ripped off from The Simpsons.

With that said, I still love Family Guy.

And as far as The Simpsons Movie goes, I saw it tonight for a midnight showing, and I absolutley LOVED it! I was laughing through the entire thing. And as I told my friends walking out, there were some parts of it that were almost Family Guy-esque, but Family Guy has pretty much ripped off The Simpsons the entire way anyways, so yea.

This is one of my favorite movies of the year so far, between this and Transformers. Unfortunatley, I didn't stay through the end of the credits (I had an idea that I probably should, but we didn't), but I wanna see this movie again anyways, so I'll just check it out then.

Great movie. I never thought I'd like the idea of a Simpsons movie, but they pulled it off well. Despite the fact that the TV show has gone downhill a bit, they brought their "A" game for this movie. Hopefully this won't be the only one, because there was a lot of stuff that I would have liked to see. And from what I'm hearing of the after credits, perhaps there will be! :)

how can you honestly suggest that fg is a rip off of the simpsons, the video is very tenuous at best, I can actually find jokes simpsons has taken almost directly from fg in its newer seasons

other than superficial similarities (fat lazy idiot dad, nasaly wife) they are very different shows with very different styles of comedy

very good movie, by 3rd fav this year (behind rocky and die hard)

edit : yeah if u stayed after credits than you'll know this probs isnt the last

I saw it last night. Loved it from from start to finish. It was a god return to form. I had massive concerns that it would be a cringe-fest like the episodes of the last few years. I was proven wrong which was great. Awesome

Family Guy is a complete rip off of Simpsons.

yeah so what, ironically another animated series said it best

Butters: They did that on the Simpsons! Ha! Treehouse of Horror! Episode 4F02! The Genesis tub. Lisa loses a tooth, and the bacteria on it start to grow, and makes a little society, and they build a statue of her thinking she's God! Ha! Hahaha!
Cartman: [everyone is silent for a few seconds, then] ...So?
Kyle: ...Yeah. So?
Cartman: Dude, the Simpsons have done everything already. Who cares?
Stan: Yeah, and they've been on the air for like, thirteen years. Of course they've done everything.
Mr .Garrison: Every idea's been done, Butters, even before the Simpsons.
Chef: Yeah. In fact, that episode was a rip-off of a Twilight Zone episode.
Butters: Really? So I shouldn't care if I come up with an idea, and the Simpsons already did it. It... uh...doesn't... matter. [smiles. Everything before him is back in South Park-style] Everything is back to normal, a, I think... I think I can go back to tryin' to destroy the world again.

anyway i seen the film the other night well worth the wait, pure brilliance. its strange the two films i had not hype for this summer, simpsons and transformers have both turned out to be the most enjoyable

My wife and I are seeing it this weekend. Can't wait!!
(oh and I think Family Guy is kind of annoying)

It's wonderful how no one wants to spoil this movie... Ithas been released, but even now the plot remains a secret to a lot of people... You can tell this movie is special...

As someone who´s a devoted fan of the prime years of The Simpsons, it´s amazing to hear that the movie delivers, after so many years and the fading in quality of the later seasons of the show. Too bad it´s gonna take a few more weeks for it to open in Brazil.

I agree.

Like I said in my previous post, I still love Family Guy. It might take a lot of it's jokes from The Simpsons, but I still think it's a very well done and hilarious show.

I always say there'd be no Family Guy, South Park, Futurama, etc... without The Simpsons. Well, as other people reply back, there'd be no Simpsons without The Flintstones.

It's all a continuous cycle. Family Guy taking many of it's jokes from The Simpsons doesn't make it a worse show.

I saw it last night. It was absolutely hilarious. I loved every minute of it.

Saw it at midnight last night and I coulodn't of been more happy with it. Great job by Groening and crew. The movie was just histerical and I was just having so much fun. It got a very nice round of applause at the end. It was definitely worth the long long wait for this movie to finally hit the big screen.

Saw it.
Loved it!
Reminded me of season 5-7.
I was laughing at the whole movie, and so was the entire theater.
Wasn't expecting to see a certain body part:wow: (It earned it's PG-13)
I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10.

Question- for anyone who stayed for the credits, was there anything after the anthem?
They decided to stop the movie even though a few people were still watching it.
Thanks!

This movie was a beautiful dream come true. It was like when I was 10 always watching the Simpsons everyday. That feeling was back.

Homer flipping the bird and saving the day! Yeah!

I think the anthem was the last thing... not sure... All the things in the credits were
Burns and Smithers
Tom Hanks
The simpsons and Maggie talking
The movie theater employee cleaning <= Can't remember if this is after or before the anthem

9.5/10!!!! Bravo! See it, you will have such a good time! :cwink: :yay: Me and the rest of the audience seeing it were laughing the entire time. I would give it 10/10 if it were longer, though.

Please vote on the poll and post what you think about it.

just like i thought it would be

very funny... and very entertaining

When the movie was over, people were clapping loudly, and I heard comments like "I'm seeing that s*** AGAIN!", and "that was hilarious!"

The only time people weren't laughing was when Lenny and Mr. Burns said "Racist" lines.

Fantastic movie.

Felt like the good old days, when The Simpsons was funny.

Loved it. Going to see it again tomorrow.

I saw some clips on youtube of Simpsons from season 1...

yeeesshhh

Heh heh. Yeah, not funny. Especally compared to my favorite episode of all-time "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson".

I like Family Guy, but alot is taken from Simpsons. Though Simpsons sometimes goes vice versa, nowadays.

I just got back from seeing this and this movie is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo awesome!!! I was laughing throughout the whole movie. It's definitely one of the better movies of the summer...or perhaps the best movie of the summer. All I know is that it was hilarious. They definitely used the PG-13 rating to their advantage, but I am glad it wasn't bad as I thought it was going to be in that department.

Overall an awesome Simpson's movie! 5 out of 5 stars or 10/10.

Same happened at my screening...I really hope this will be a huge hit...it would be great if it could hit 200 million but I know those may be lofty expectations. lol.
