Family Guy is a complete rip off of Simpsons.

Anyway, the buzz for this movie is big. I was just watching the guide channel, they have changed real gas stations into Kwik-e Marts, put the Simpsons in designer fashions, and placed Simpsons all over many air places.

Listening to the soundtrack- IT'S FCKING GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

Family Guy is a complete rip off of Simpsons.

Oh yeah, I know The Simpsons came first and has always been much better than Family Guy. I just didn't like the random, repetitive, and over-the-top gags that appeared in the middle seasons of The Simpsons even before Family Guy existed.

Saw yesterday The Simpsons Movie. Lucky in Belgium we get 2 versions:

Original
Flemisch (dubbed)

Very very very funny movie! Must see it again!

No The Dark Knight teaser! = D'OH!

Yep, there are a few things during credits! Also funny and Maggie who says her first word!

Do want to know with word? It begins with an "s" and ends with
equel

Steve

Didn't Maggie already have her first words in the series?

See, now I really don't like the Simspons TV episodes that were super-heavy on the "random" gags, because they seemed to much like "Family Guy".

That might be a problem for this movie. It might be too slapsticky and exaggerated for those who liked the early seasons of the Simpsons TV show that were more "realistic" in plot, but still very sarcastic and satirical.
However, it's probably not random or edgy enough for those who've gotten used to "Family Guy" over the last few years.

To clarify. When I say I wanted more "random-ness" I was referring to the nature of the humor. Not the plot. I hate those later episodes that just go anywhere. I liked the more realistic nature of the first nine (ish) seasons.

The only other way I can describe the kind of "random" Simpsons humor I like is "out of left field" or... "off the wall".

Make any sense? :csad:

P.S Never watched an episode of Family Guy in my life.

This movie sounds great!

There is a song on the soundtrack- don't know if it's in the movie credits of a Simpsons theme being played techno through Homer's "Doh!"s it's hilarious.

I really hope Comic Book Guy gets some great moments in this.

CBG has indeed some screentime and ofcourse always reffering to comic books in his lines.

Like when he
explains where he heard about "EEPA"

And now i'm talking about Comic Book Guy:

He should say something like this about The Simpsons Movie:

Best Simpsons movie ever!

Steve

lol family guy and simpsons are so different, the only similarities are very superficial ones

I'm one of the biggest Simpsons fans out there but was never really that excited for the movie. As reviews have mentioned,

As Homer states in the beginning of the film, why would I be hyped for something I can see day in and day out, for free on the TV?

However, after seeing some really funny clips the past few weeks and reading these overwhelmingly positive reviews...i'm now actually excited to see it.

Luckily the movie comes out tomorrow so there's not much of an agonizing wait.

Lol.

I thought the movie was solid.

Some of my fav moments

Grand thief walrus, Homer with the middle fingers sinking into the sand, anything with Spider-Pig, Bart naked skateboarding

Spider-Pig song is the best.

Spider-Pig, Spider-Pig, doing whatever a Spider-Pig does. Can we swing from a web, no he can't because his a spider-pig..

My review. Is a rough translation of my original review

The movie is a 7. If you like the current episodes instead of "classics", you have the ringtone of Homer singing, or something like that, add two, is a 9.
Great movie. Though the evaluation is limited due to the fact that I could only see half the movie thanks to the stupid idea of no showing it in his original audio in any theater in my country. The humor as reflected in my rating is similar in tone to the current episodes in TV, but bigger, much bigger, and yes, there are sparks of the classic humor, plus some really nice shots at the government and church (but don't expect anything as rich in details as the classics). If you take me as a sample of someone who adores the old episodes and hate the current, I laughed a lot, the intro to the movie is wonderful, it made me laugh, and gave me the chills with the feeling of huge event, and I enjoyed a lot watching the movie being true to the current series, without pretensions of being the ultimate simpsons story, but entertaining and not avoiding the trademark bitterly evil humor, always willing to getting dirty.
The animation is exquisite, y pretty nice to see 2D animation, especially 'cause it mirrors the series, which is the reason the whole word is going to see it
Go see it, don't let it pass, y stay trough the credits! (all the way to the end!)

I gave it a 7 too.

Thought the movie was pretty good.. but still, I felt kinda dissapointed... constant laughs though, just hoped for me. Meh, maybe I'm being ghey about it all.

I'm seeing it, don't know when but I don't expect anything that the TV show hasn't already dealt upon.

Has anyone else bought Buzz cola at 7-11. It tastes like RC cola.

I saw some clips on youtube of Simpsons from season 1...
