Most likely not, and its been pretty certain that Guillermo was going to direct The Hobbit for awhile now. They just had to go through negotiations and what not.

Doesn't seem like it, but who knows? At the very least he'll stay on as a producer, which should still give him a fair amount of input on the movie (think of how much influence Avi Arad has had).
