Rank the 2016 Comic Book Movies

Best Comic Book Movie of 2016

  • Deadpool

  • Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice

  • Captain America: Civil War

  • X-Men: Apocalypse

  • Suicide Squad

  • Doctor Strange

Results are only viewable after voting.
1. Civil War
2. Dr. Strange
3. Deadpool
4. Raven-Men
5/6. The rest.

I see an inevitable Deadpool vs. Doctor Strange poll.

1. Captain America: Civil War - one of the greatest CBMs ever. 'Nuff said.
2. Doctor Strange - I think they really handled his origin story really well and while some think it's too formulaic, I think the visuals and it's very creative final battle makes it stand out enough.
3. Deadpool - another well done origin movie and it was such a pleasant surprise.
4. X-Men: Apocalypse - Disappointed with this one, but still enjoyable.
5. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - very disappointing but I still at least enjoyed some parts of it.
6. Suicide Squad - downright embarrassing, I really had high hopes for this but it was just a really bad movie. And I don't care about the ultimate/extended cuts of this and BvS. The theatrical releases are what matter for me, these ultimate/extended cuts are just a way for WB to save face. I hope Wonder Woman knocks it out of the park though.

Interesting. Is that based on them both being origin stories.
In that case, Dr Strange outclasses Deadpool by a wide margin, IMO.

Don't get me wrong, Deadpool was great fun, but doesn't hold up against
the spectacularly trippy and brilliantly acted Dr Strange (again, IMO).

I mean, Cumberbatch is to Ryan Reynolds what Ryan Reynolds is to Pauly Shore.

I would have to disagree, Deadpool was done better for me, you could feel the stakes more in Deadpool, despite the fact they were much smaller. DP also had a ton of heart to it which helped in the more serious scenes.

1. Deadpool

5. Apocalypse

Didn't vote, I need to watch Doctor Strange.
Update:
1. Deadpool
2. Civil War
3. Doctor Strange

4. Batman v Superman

5. Suicide Squad
6. Apocalypse

Shame both films had so weak scripts.

Agree to disagree Dude, IMO Dr Strange had Deadpool beat on all those - especially the stakes and the film's heart - and, this won't be popular but also I preferred the humour in Dr Strange, as it was less OTT. But hey, everyone's entitled to an opinion
, and I'm totally biased as I've always liked Dr Strange and only kind of tolerated Deadpool.
Cheers.

Well only another 3 days, 6 hours and 5 minutes and I'll be able to answer is poll for myself.

Maybe it's true what they say, there are different planes of existence, sometimes they clash to give us different opinions based on scripts from other worlds.
And in your case, you come from a world where DCEU movies of this year actually have good scripts, and the two movies you complained about have bad scripts.

It's like a Multiverse thing,or World of opposites.

This also applies to me seeing Andrew Garfield as the definitive cinematic Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and you view that version as an unlikable jerk.

P.S: The Beenox games counterpart is an idiot jerk who steals from thieves to take position of what they stole from his buddy, and doesn't mind causing a viral outbreak by being a stupid idiot wreaking the nerves of cross-species by being near one despite earlier warning literally just a couple of minutes before the outbreak.

Ahahah well,I like Garfield as an actor and didn't find his Spidey particularly jerk, but the writing in those movies bogged him down big time. Even though I don't really like ASM2 he was one of the few saving graces of that series along with Emma.

Nope, that's not acceptable, your opinion is wrong and you need to agree with me asap.

Just kidding of course, we are all have our opinions :oldrazz:. Different strokes for different folks as we say here in Liverpool :yay:

Hmmm... I have to wait until tomorrow when I see Strange before I vote. But right now it's a toss-up between Deadpool and Civil War.

Have to say I enjoyed Strange quite a bit more on 2nd viewing, so maybe recommend to some people to see it twice before voting? Up to you guys and gals of course.

It didn't change my vote though that's still Deadpool.

Considering your new rating is my actual rating, maybe i'll end up liking it even more when i watch it tomorrow, or maybe less :oldrazz:
We'll see.

:woot:

Were you a Deadpool fan before the film ? Personally, I've never really gone for Deadpool, and I struggle with Ryan Reynolds as an actor ( something Deadpool himself points out). Whereas I've been a fan of Cumberbatch since Sherlock season 1.

I will say that Deadpool has the better love story though !

Haven't seen Strange yet, but I actually feel like that's the one thing I can confidently say that Deadpool will do better than Strange (well, that and maybe the humor, but we'll see): the love story. Deadpool succeeds mainly due to the genuinely touching, if somewhat undercooked, romance between him and Vanessa. Deadpool is a smarmy, nearly invincible jackass whose schtick could grow very tiresome very quick, but the love story made me actually buy into the character and his journey.

Strange could have a great love story, I haven't read anything about the film and I don't know what to expect, but Deadpool's success, in my eyes, is due entirely to the romance.

Will be watching Strange tomorrow evening, but as of right now:

Civil War
Deadpool
X-Men: Apocalypse
Suicide Squad
BvS
