Rank these 5 franchises from best to worst

Star Wars (#1 movie franchise, period)
Middle Earth (#3 movie franchise, period, after Indiana Jones)
MCU
Pirates of the Caribbean (I liked the first one well enough, haven't seen the others)
Harry Potter (I didn't like the second one, haven't seen the others)

Harry Potter
PoTC
Middle Earth
Star Wars
MCU

1. Star Wars
2. Middle Earth
3. Harry Potter
4. MCU
5. Pirates

MCU
Tolkien
Star Wars
Potter
Pirates

Only the first two am I a fan of. The rest can suck rotten eggs for all I care.

I would have had Indy as my #3 but that wasn't an option.

So what movies out of these 5 franchises are your favorites?

Marvel- Avengers-Captain America: TWS
Middle Earth- Return of the King
Star Wars- Episode IV: A New Hope
Pirates- PotC: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Potter- Haven't seen any

Harry Potter
Marvel Cinematic Universe
Middle-Earth
Star Wars
Pirates of the Caribbean

Harry Potter was by far the most consistent, but while i grew up with it, it's not my personal favorite. Either way, here's how i would rank them in order of consistency and overall quality:

1. Harry Potter
2. Marvel Cinematic Universe
3- The Hobbit
4. Star Wars
5. Pirates of the Caribbean

The MCU had some weaker movies, but the universe as a whole has had a very consistent quality, and i wouldn't say they have any movie that was truly bad, only disapointing or too "safe". Star Wars loses a lot of points due to the Prequels, and Middle Earth would be number 1 if it wasn't for The Hobbit films.

Pirates of the Caribbean seems like a mixed bag for most, seems unfair to put it in here, as it's obvious not many will give it a very high spot. But then again, Harry Potter doesn't seem like the cup of tea to many people around these forums, so that franchise is also being put in a difficult position.

So what movies out of these 5 franchises are your favorites?

Star Wars - A New Hope
Middle Earth - Return of the King
Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest
Harry Potter - Goblet of Fire
Marvel - Guardians of the Galaxy

And the worst:

Star Wars - The Phantom Menace (not counting the terrible Clone Wars animated feature)
Middle Earth - Desolation of Smaug
Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End
Harry Potter - Chamber of Secrets
Marvel - The Incredible Hulk

Hmm. I don't really like any of these franchises as much as I used to.

I think Star Wars is a mixed bag, especially now with those prequels and various other issues. I think LOTR is a fine trilogy, but The Hobbit films are abysmal bores and I won't bother seeing the last movie. I quite like the first Pirates movie, and the second is okay, but I can't say I'm a big fan. I've seen them about once. I think Harry Potter is okay, but again, the passion isn't there for me.

Marvel have done a very good job I think with their world building, and perhaps take my my top spot. But I'm not really up to giving an overall list.

Star Wars - A New Hope
Middle Earth - Return of the King
Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest
Harry Potter - Goblet of Fire
Marvel - Guardians of the Galaxy
I almost picked Dead Man's Chest as well. I love Davy Jones.

1. Harry potter
2. Pirates of the caribbean
3. The lord of the rings
4. Star wars
5. Marvel

1. Star Wars
2. Middle Earth
3. Harry Potter
4. Marvel
5. Pirates

Really hard to judge because;
With the Middle Earth franchise I despise The Hobbit trilogy.
With the Star Wars franchise I despise the prequels and dislike half of RoTJ.
Marvel also has its share of duds

I would put Harry Potter at the top because the entire series has been pretty consistent.

So taking ALL the movies into account including the stinkers

HP
SW
Middle Earth
MCU
PotC

So what movies out of these 5 franchises are your favorites?

Star Wars - Return of the Jedi
Middle-Earth - The Two Towers
Pirates - The first one
MCU - The Winter Soldier
Harry Potter - Prisoner of Azkaban

Star Wars - Empire (by miles)

Pirates - The first one (the rest of them are ****)
MCU - Iron Man (by miles)
Harry Potter - Chamber of Secrets (most like the book for me)

MCU and Star Wars equally
LOTR
Harry Potter
POTC

Favorite movies from each:

MCU: The Avengers and Winter Soldier equally
Star Wars: ESB
LOTR: FOTR
Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban
POTC: Dead Man's Chest

Is anyone else a fan of Lord Beckett's? I love some of his lines and his delivery such as: "I'm afraid currency is the currency of the land" and "It would seem the immaterial has become immaterial."

Lord Beckett was pretty cool, he wasn't as impressive as Barbossa or Davy Jones, but i liked him a lot. Blackbeard was easily the weakest PotC villain.

I agree he was the worst: what's tragic about that is Ian Mcshane was perfect casting for the part!

1. Star Wars
2. Marvel Cinematic Universe
3. Pirates of the Caribbean
4. Harry Potter
5. Middle Earth

Though I'm just simply not a Middle Earth fan. It doesn't appeal to me.

MCU
Star Wars
Middle Earth
Pirates
Potter*

I've only seen a couple of those movies, once, never cared for them.

Marvel Cinematic Universe
Middle-Earth (The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings)
Star Wars
Pirates of the Caribbean
Harry Potter

I know that a few of these seem to be at an advantage with having more entries than the others (Harry Potter has almost double the movies that Pirates has).

So I guess rate these based on which ones are the most consistently entertaining and well-made.

They're all good but probably Potter because it's actually one of the few franchises with no major eff up's or things of that nature. Really hard to pull off that kinda consistency it seems.

Maybe LOTR next due to it's dramatic accolades.
