because he is a ridiculously mediocre director who apparently made a pact with the devil to make his equally mediocre movies be box office hits that allow him to continue making more and more of them. meanwhile great movies like Stardust struggle to break even. where the f**k is the justice in that?

because he has absolutely no f***ing integrity and is more than willing to be the studio's shill for a quick buck. look no further than X3.

and Uwe Boll being awful wont stop people from hating Ratner. they'll just hate Boll more.

Because he directed X-Men: The Last Stand, which was already doomed from the start with the script from Penn and Kinberg (Only somebody like Spielberg could've made X3 great with that mediocre script). So Brett Ratner is a tool for hire and isn't really the first person to come to mind when you think "good director," the fanboys hate his guts. Barely anybody outright hated him until after X3. Ratner has actually directed a couple of good films. I don't see Rob Cohen getting universal hate for his movies.
