Rayman Origins Sequel

Too bad the 1st Origins sold underwhelmingly (my auto-spell check is telling me underwhelmingly isn't a word, but overwhelmingly is? The hell?). I would not have expected a sequel.

The first game is absolutely fantastic and it makes me sad everyone overlooked it. I'm really glad it's getting a sequel.

Also, I'm not sure I would say its sales numbers were underwhelming per se. If I remember correctly, it was made by a very, very small team, so it couldn't have been that expensive to produce. Plus, given the niche nature of the game Ubisoft couldn't have been expecting it to sell huge numbers.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this new game!

Ubisoft said it made a profit, so I doubt it sold "underwhelmingly". Good that a sequel is planned.

Cool that a sequel is planned it was a great game. It's too bad games like this get so overlooked, all these new 2D platformers have been a lot of fun. Rayman Origins, Donkey Kong Country Returns, New Super Mario Bros., however, people see cartoon graphics and just assume it's for kids. These games have a lot to offer though.

That's probably part of it. Nowadays most people only seem to want games that are super serious and grimdark.

I think another part is that over the last several years people have been conditioned to believe that sidescrollers should be relegated to digital distribution services, and for no more than $20. It doesn't matter how good it is or how much content is in it, the perceived value of these sorts of games has become rather low.

Hopefully Ubisoft prices this game a little more aggressively so it can do a little better.

It came out at a bad time. Its a pretty small game to have been released during the fall blockbuster season. I think it would be better fit for a Spring release

I've been playing through Origins and it's absolutely fantastic. Such an underrated game.
