RCS Messaging Thread: Texting of the Future

And now, for all you business owners!
Thought another family member upgraded only to learn they got a Pixel 9 Pro.
Ohhhhhh, well that ain't necessarily a bad thing! With the screen off, the Pixel 9 series looks just like an iPhone anyway :whoops: 😅 the easiest way to tell is to see if the chat is encrypted.

If it is, then you're chatting with an Android. If it's not, then you're chatting with an iPhone.

I dunno if it's possible to customize the bubble colors on a Samsung, but it is on Pixel's. So what I've been doing with every iPhone conversation I have, is customizing the color of the bubble to green.

wow. that was quick. I'm already seeing the redesigns appear on the app.
Looks like WhatsApp's read receipts.
OMG you're right. Whatsapp also has the read receipts right on the text bubbles instead of underneath them. but I would think Google messages would want their RCS messages to look more like iMessages though, not Whatsapp messages.

Can confirm Telegram has them too.

Beeper sounds like the app for you.
It's funny you mention that lol because I had the app for a little while! Beeper mini, anyway. Remember last year when they finally found a way to get iMessage onto Android? I had for, for like literally one day. It was awesome.

But then Apple shut all that down and the rest is history.

It exists still, but it supports Google Messages, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and Signal.

Twitter has got to be the most volatile social media ever, but I never could get into it. I follow it maybe as an ongoing news source but that's about it.

It's just the DMs

This is misleading. It was the Chinese government, not Google, that Apple fell to pressure by and then implemented RCS. They also basically list the features of it twice.
