Of all the pictures of Schwarzenegger being a bad-ass... :whatever:

End of Days may have been a dumbass movie, but Arnie was very much like Frank in it. There's a part where Satan is showing him the murder of his family and he's going bat f uck insane trying to stop it and he's fighting like an animal it was pure Frank.

I've always thought the same thing when i watch that movie.

Even though i actually enjoy it. :csad:

NO RE-CAST!!!! THOMAS JANE IS THE PUNISHER. IF HE'S NOT IN IT... BOYCOTT!

You misunerstand me, I like the movie too (How could anyone not want to see Arnold vs. Satan), I even own it on DVD, but it does get very silly.

He is always mentioned..

Gerard Butler would make a nice replacement, although i honestly think that Jane will come back!

^ Jane won't come back with the current script and LGF is gonna lose the rights if they don't start filming like...very soon. Too bad there's not an old script floating around that's solid.

I've got one..have to be re-tooled to include Jigsaw, but that's easy enough. Even have a professional bud who could help re-write it. The few folks who've read it seemed to dig it a lot (and I aint talking about the folks). If it'd save this movie I'd be tempted to let em use it for free.

I remember that film. I walked out of it.

It was deeper than people gave it credit for. But still really stupid.

Only one man will ever be considered the Punisher anymore and that's...

That's all that needs to be said anymore on this subject!

I agree. Shelf this movie until a decent story is written and a good director comes along. Then maybe Jane will come back, and we'll get a sequel equal to or better than the first.

I actually liked End of Days. It's my favorite Arnold movie either way.

I guess his character in that movie was similar to Frank Castle, but still, Arnie as the Punisher? No thanks. :woot:

"It is not a tumah! It is a big fockin' gun!"

Jane or bust. But if I had to replace him gun to my head...The Eckhart. He looks like Jane's brother.

True. But Eckhart is already Two-Face in my mind's eye. I know, I know, it is okay for actors to play more than one comic book hero/villain, but still, I'd prefer they avoid this if at all possible.

Jane or bust. Nuff said. :woot:

As long as it is kept Marvel/DC I don't mind. Back in the day Jackman was rumored for the Punisher. Now I would have had a problem with that. I don't want the same actor playing two main Marvel characters.

I see your point. Still, even if Catwoman wasn't the flaming pile of doo-doo that it was, and we all knew it would be, I still would have been a little uneasy with Storm also being Catwoman, ya know.

Halle Berry was miscast (should have been Angela Bassett) as Storm and Catwoman just should have never happened period. That is all I will say about that.

Meh. Not the ideal Storm, but she was....ohhh-kay. Catwoman should've happened back when the Bat-franchise of the past was still going on. Would've made more sense. Catwoman coming out when it did kinda screws with Nolan's Bat-movies.

Whoops! This is supposed to be a Pushisher discussion huh.

Not really considering her accent was so bad Singer just told her to talk in her normal voice for the next movie...lol.

And Pfeiffer's Catwoman will never be outdone sorry. :)

No. That's what I was hoping for, a Pfeiffer Catwoman spin-off back in the day. After Batman Returns hit theatres, there was supposed to be a Catwoman movie in the works, but it never happened, and twelve years later, we got CINO.

If Singer had that much of a problem with Berry's accent, he should've just recast her. It would've saved him some money, and I'm sure the fans wouldn't have been too heartbroken over it.

He didn't have a choice. She was contracted. But enough about that back on topic.

Only one way to fix this. We must now merge the two discussions at hand. Pfeiffer for Punisher!! :wow:

The Hensleigh draft that LatinoReview reviewed back in '05 sounded good enough to me (except maybe change the location of the end fight), why did that one get killed off?

I got it. It's not bad, but it's not all that either. But, I don't think it would be that much work, on the script to make it good.

It really is too bad that Jane won't be playing the Punisher, because of all the four movies that came out at that time (the others being Hulk, Daredevil, and *shudder* Man-Thing) I thought Punisher was the best, althought honestly, Hulk and Daredevil had some good aspects to them. With their 180 on the Hulk franchise, I have faith that sooner or later a good Punisher film will come out, and if not, I promise I'll make one someday that will put all others to SHAME. I vow it, so to speak. However, if Jane's out, he's out, and that's the beauty of comic books. There's infinite variations. Steve Dillon's Punisher looks different than Bradstreet's Punisher looks different than John Romita Jr.'s punisher etc, so why not let someone else have the joy of taking a crack at it?

I was looking through my dvds and some of my stepfather's trying to deduce who'd be a good punisher replacement, thinking "If you honestly hope to be a film director someday, then you should be able to think smart and come up with a good Frank." and I SWEAR TO GOD, RIGHT before the page loaded I thought, "Hey... I never saw 300, but Gerard Butler seems like a great choice!" I thought i was a *****in' GENIUS or something, like I was gonna type it up and everyone would start nodding their heads going "Yeah..yeah.." I hadn't realized someone else had mentioned it already, so whoever it was, THANKS A BUNCH!........

But really, even though the two characters have their similarities (darker comics, fighters, angered, militaristic), I think it'd be enough of a contrast from 300 for him to go in comforably without feeling like he was being typecast. Then again, I also heard he was up for the Comedian in Watchmen, so I dunno...

Adrian Pasdar's an interesting choice though, too. He's kind of like the Christopher Nolan choice, in that nobody expects him, but he has the potential to do great things. Then again, he could play the punisher and the film could be totally rand, then I'd have to put my foot in my mouth, but he as well, in fact, even more so, would be switching roles from Nathan Petrelli to Frank Castle, and he's certainly got the jaw and hairline, etc. Gerard's voice seems a little more booming, though.
