I hope it is resolved in the next movie.
I don't know man. That is what people think would be the logical outcome but Singer may surprise people. I don't think they established Richard as a great man for nothing.Matt said:Just like Spider-man doesn't get with MJ at the end? By the end of the sequel, Lois and Clark will be together, raising their son, and Richard will likely be out of the picture. It was delaying the inevitable to keep the tension going and you know it.

I wonder what will be the result of Lois staying with Dick, knowing her son is the son of steel. Will Lois tell Dick the truth? Will he want to raise the son of steel? I think he shouldn't and won't just pull himself completely out of lois' son's life. They've bonded over 5 years, I suspect. What may happen is that he dies. I'd like him to die saving superman's life in the next one, to turn the tables this time.

charl_huntress said:Like I said before, there is a huge difference in rooting for the underdog and wanting your favorite team to win. This is the fine line you mentioned, and like I said this is the point you seem to be missing about the whole scenario.
The audience WILL want Lois to be with Superman/Clark like they have been rooting for them for years. We are talking about the general public...not Lana Lang fans, not Smallville fans, and not YOU.
Yes, they will sympathize with him. Surely they would sympathize with anyone who loves a woman whose heart belongs to someone else...not to mention she has a child with them. Yes, Richard White will get sympathy, but the audience is going to be rooting for the home team.
Remember...this is a Superman movie...not the Richard White show.

SentinelMind said:Sorry, I have to agree with Matt's point, he seems to have a mature, real world understanding of the message the storyline is delivering. The storyline seems to send the message, that yes you can be a jerk, lie to a woman, leave a woman scorned, and then 5 years later....just 'win her back'. That's fine in Hollywood world....after all this is a big blockbuster Hollywood movie, but that's still doesn't negate it from being an immature, heartless message that doesn't work in the real world. While I can understand everyone makes mistakes, the mistakes implied in this storyline seem to make Superman unheroic and undeserving of Lois. But of course, the woman always falls in love with the man with powers...This just seems to encourage dysfunctional relationships and stereotypes. But oh...well.
The crowd might root for Superman, doesn't mean it makes sense, really.
Well we all knew it would happen eventually. Although they might make it different with the movies than the comics, like they might do with SM3.Kal-El 8 said:Look, I'm just happy to know Jason is Clark's son. Because now I know [NOW FOR SURE] Lois & Clark will end up together .

Richard White=Jonathon Kent part 2
is still alive and while supey had no choice in ever knowing his father besides the hologram image, Jason seems to know and most likely will want to be trained by or just get to know his real daddy.I'm with you, it's brilliant. The only problem is how? His only weakness is Kryptonite...charl_huntress said:OMG...YES!!!!!! That is sooooo perfect.
Jen, did you read that?????![]()
Just like Spider-man doesn't get with MJ at the end?

I don't know, maybe. I want him to turn evil first though.Batman the 6th said:Anyone like my idea for the Supes/Jason/Richard/Lois thing? Richard becomes a godparent in case something happens to Supes and Lois?

EDIT: I am also disappointed by fans hoping Richard and Jason just die.....that would be a cheap and heartless copout and more bad writing.
I'm not trying to pick fights with you, but I think he was only saying that it was a possible ending.Fatboy Roberts said:Didn't know you were writing the sequel to Superman Returns.
Oh, you aren't? So the entirety of your argument hinges on supposition and no real knowledge of what's coming? Okay. That's cool. So I thank you in advance for ceasing to speak so authoritatively on the subject, especially since what you DO know you're WILLFULLY misrepresenting so as to win an argument on the internet![]()
LMAO....charl_huntress said:I feel like you read nothing of what I said before you posted that.
Though you mention the message the general public will take from Superman leaving, and I ask you if anyone of them had the craziness to imagine themselves in the same situation as Superman...do you think it's possible that theymight not sympathize with Supes also???? It's not like he went off on a galaxy-wide quest for poontang. He went to see if there was life still on Krypton...his home planet which he heard was destroyed. Uhhh...you think people are going to think he's an ******* for wanting to check it out, and for being a wimp because he couldn't tell the woman he loved because he was afraid he wouldn't come back or might not make it back.
You know...I like to use c'mon alot becaues it pretty much sums up WTF I think of certain stuff.
It's like c'mon that's idiotic...c'mon that doesn't make sense...or just c'mon...because you know you need to go somewhere with that crap.
he can know both--Superman being alive doesn't mean that Richard has to be absent from his life or any less of a father. Come on guys think outside the box. I don't think anyone has to die for these people to have a happy endingWesyeed said:well butis still alive and while supey had no choice in ever knowing his father besides the hologram image, Jason seems to know and most likely will want to be trained by or just get to know his real daddy.
