I think the kid will not have as much strength as his dad, but pretty strong. He may not be invulnerable, he might heal fast like Blade or Wolverine. And about that Blade thing, I like the idea of him being 3/4 kryptonian. The kid will develop powers slower than his dad because he has a human mother.

Hes still kryptonian, plus, Supes 2 never happened because Zod and co never came, they weren't mentioned in the book nor the movie. Well, the book mentioned them, but they haven't been to Earth yet. The only thing that happened in S2 was the sex, and I don't think it was the FOS.

I don't think so either...I think it happened at some other time we didn't see and when Superman still has his powers.
 
well according to the movieverse [donner films], superman would kill Lois if he had sex with her. Thats why he became human in superman 2, so he can have a more physcial relationship with Lois. on a side not, how the hell do you have sex with a man, and not yet not know anything about him? superman 2 made it so Clark told lois he was superman ,and he showed her everything. Thats what superman would do, he would not have sex with Lois in some random location and not tell her the fcats about himself.
 
I just see it as her and him had a relationship...and he didn't let her know he was also Clark so he could always be watching over her. Thats just my theory.

he can't watchover her if she knows hes clark? what kind of relationship was superman gonna have with Lois, just have sex with her now and then till she gets to old? and what would be the reaction when he did tell her the truth, i dun think Lois will be to thrilled.

I was tired when I was posting that last night and didn't get everything down I wanted to.....Ok...I think Lois and Superman were in a relationship...they got together at least once and conceived Jason when Superman still has his powers....he most likely was going to tell her eveything at somepoint but didn't get the chance because he found out about the possible survivors and decided he needed to go and check out Krypton...it was too hard for him to say goodbye to Lois...he told us that as Clark in SR....so he didn't get the chance to tell her everything and he also didn't know she was carrying his baby. Like I said it is just a therory..and explains way she remembers sleeping with Superman but not that he and Clark are one in the same.
 
I agree with Venom71. Also, in the 1st movie, Jor-El put the 3 kryptonians in the Phantom Zone. Weren't there other dangerous criminals that they put in thier? I don't like it that the Phantom Zone is an eternal hell, why can't it be like prison where they would age, because they would be in there for a long time. Like in S:TAS, Jax-Ur and Mala were both in there. Jax-Ur was sentenced for life, or forever, and Mala only got 20 years. But she didn't age. Why is that?

because you become ghost like states, its an enternal hell/prison for the worsyt crimes. It makes sense they do not age, as if they did age they would also need to eat and sleep [which does not happen in the zone, the same reason people don't age i ntheir]. They become phantoms basically.
 
I saw the movie and I liked the kid although I don't know if I like the direction they are going with it. I really liked Richard and he seemed much more real than I thought he might be.

The issue with the kid while the simple fact of having two different species sucessfully produce off spring after only a few times of being together is not really likely given that while they are similar enought to be related they are also very different I thought that that it mitigates the impact of Superman leaving.

If the main point of him leaving was to show the world moving on having Jason be Superman's kid seems to me a safe risky choice compared to having the child be Richard's which would have been much more risky due to the relationship that the public assumes between Lois and Superman. It means that it is easier for them to get back together at some point because they are connected through Jason which weakens the impact of Superman leaving. I really felt that there should of been more impact for him leaving and that it would be harder for the public to trust a hero who would leave so suddenly.

Jason was a fun kid I liked the garbage can bit that has fun but I hope that they put a highlight on his relationship with Richard and Superman in the sequel. I have read other posts about how Richard's relationship with Jason was more like the relationship between Johnathan and Clark than anything else. I would like Richard to give Jason his moral centre. I want the audience to know that Superman may love Jason because he is his but that that for Richard even if he finds out about Jason's father that he will love him because he was there for him and protected him regardless of who is his biological father. The way his character was projected I have no doubt that while he will be hurt by not being the biological father as he has been characterized I believe that wouldn't change how he feels at all given what we have been shown. If the do an about face in the sequels I think that would be a bad move unless they can do it realistically which would be hard given how they have handled Richard so far. I really don't know how I feel about Superman's relationship with his child because I don't think he is equiped to handle him and since he is not in a position to be with him 247 and doesn't know him. I wonder if there relationship will be more Jor-El to Kal-El than simply father to son. While I see love in Jason for Superman I think it is more a combination of what he represents and how they are connected rather than his feelings for Richard which are more about their experiences together as a family. I can see in the future when he is older that Jason would feel conflicted about his biological father and his Richard as his father if he continues to keep this secret since Jason would be unintentially deciving has father something he has every right to know as Jason's guardian and as someone who loves him. Would Jason's love for Richard change with the knowledge that Superman is his real father and that this knowledge would be very painful for someone he loves. I want to see conflict and I if Richard has to go for Superman and Lois to be together I want him to go out in a blaze of glory trying to protect "HIS" son and Lois.

I would like Jason to start identifying more with Superman but that in some incident where Jason could of saved him and Richard he doesn't and Richard is hurt or killed in the process of protecting him. That would serve to create tension between Superman, Jason and Lois. I would like for Jason to realize how important Richard was and how much he loves him after he is dead and have to live with that guilt. With Lois I want her to realize she really loved him when it is too late. I can see this type of senerio happening as some kind of sub plot to the main Superman plot and would create new barriers for Superman and Lois while at the same time removing old ones but it would also respect the character Richard as he was portrayed in Superman Returns instead of trying to make him something he is not. It's not that he wouldn't be hurt or jealous but he would still love his family.

Its kind of like the Dead Zone TVseries. J.J.(the kid) is Johnny's son, but he was in a coma for 6 years, and his fiancee moved on and married a guy and for years J.J. thought Walt was his real father, and sometime(I forgot when) he learned who his real father is. I saw the last episode, where J.J., Johnny and Walt weren trapped in a house, and J.J. called Walt dad, and Johnny, Johnny. I don't see why he doesn't switch the rolse, knowing who his real father is, If I were Johnny, I would feel like I was not being shown respect from my son. But yeah, Jason could have a relationship like that with his real dad and w/Clark.
 
hey, i was just curious about jason, superman and lois' son, now in the second original movie, they got it on and conceived jason, but when that happened superman was human, so how is it possible jason has powers? also, in the end of the second movie, superman wiped lois' memory with his telekinesis, so she duznt' remember nething, and yet, in superman returns, she remembers, what's the deal?
