He already did Batman and Spider-Man.
he also did Hulk 2003. i mean a new superhero movie.

Real Steel is proof that he can do a soundtrack that sounds epic and emotional without sounding like a Burton movie.

Terminator Salvation was an insult to ears.

RS is definately Elfman's best score in years, probably since Spidey 2. Hellboy II had some nice beats, but was mostly pretty average, but yeah, the score for RS was perfect.

I absloulty loved Elfman's score for Terminator Salvation. It's one of the few things that worked with the movie.

The thing is though, it didnt hold a candle to the original Terminator score, by not utilising that he was always risking the wrath of fans who wanted to hear that famous theme. Had the TS score been in another movie it might not have been so scrutinized and poorly recieved.

Got to say that this is the worst movie of last year, I didn't see many but this is easily the worst of what I have seen 3/10

Seriously there was a lot of bad movies than this. I hate when people say stuff like this. Don't get me wrong your entitled to your opinion I just want to know why you didn't like it.

Maybe I should of put it as the movie I found most dissapointing in 2011 not the worst.

The character Charlie put me off straight away so I started nit picking at the rest of the movie.

I think Charlie was meant to be an ******** at the start though, but I couldnt help but grow to like him throughout the movie, casting Hugh Jackman helped as he is a likeable guy, overall, him, his son and Atom made the movie for me though.

With me I found him to be an ******** from start to finish. But who knows if I had seen it when it first came out (without the hype) I could of had a different oppinion about him.

^Oh well its all about opinions, myself I grew to love him and would love to see the whole story continue, but I dont know if it made enough for a sequel to be considered.

There is still a giant billboard for this on 42nd St in NYC. It's been there since September. :yay:

If you thought that this was the worst movie of 2011, then you must not have seen that many movies lately. Green Lantern, Sucker Punch, Jack and Jill are just a few movies that were easily worst than this movie. Reel Steel is pretty entertaining in my opinion.

^I loved it, cant wait to see it again on blu-ray, IMAX may have helped but I just loved the movie in general.

Yeah, I think Real Steel was better than at least half of all the movies that came out last year.

If anyone found themselves disappointed, I guess they were probably those that saw it way after the hype.

This movie like ROTPOTA were both Surprises to me last year. Both movies were better than I expected them to be I wish more movies could do that

Definately, even saying that, I saw it after the hype and just loved it, I literally enjoyed every minute and loved all of the characters as well.

^I love that shot. :woot:

I don't know if that jump was all Hugh when they filmed that, but when I saw his Broadway show last month, he ended a dance medley with a jump so high it reminded me of that scene from Real Steel. All he needed was Atom and the shadow punch.

Can't wait to get this on blu-ray next week.

You guys are lucky getting this next week, we have to wait until Feb 20th in the UK, its going to be agonising.

just seen this film and wow i loved it

anyone get that feeling of what it was like being a kid while watching this?
