Recasting the DC Cinematic Universe

Personally I think Cavill has done a great job as Superman but if they ever did recast then I would not have a problem with it and I don't see why Affleck gets so much grief playing Batman when if anything in BvS he was actually one of the good things about the film if anything

Cyborg I would have replaced him with Green Arrow or Green Lantern preferably Green Lantern and for Hal Jordan/Green Lantern I would have cast Bradley Cooper as Hal Jordan in the DCEU universe

My ideal Superman film would a sort of 1930s' inspired, screw-ball esque romp with special attention paid to Superman's democratic socialist and Jewish origins. I'm not saying I want the Coens to direct, but I'm not saying I don't want that either. Anyways, this is who I would cast for that:

Alden Ehrenreich - Superman

Greta Gerwig - Lois Lane

Jeffrey Wright - Lex Luthor

John Goodman - Perry White

Ki Hong Lee - Jimmy Olsen

Francis McDormand - Ma Kent

Everyone wants Affleck gone? Thought he was an amazing Batman, he should stay and Gal should stay too. Everyone else apart from Cavill and Adams should be recast.

Yeah, I thought Affleck was the highlight of the film, and he got a lot of praise from the critics. But oh well, I expect nothing less from certain segments of the community at this point.

Personally, I don't feel anyone needs recast, but I do agree Ezra Miller would be better as Red Hood than as Flash.

I loved b v s but if I could magically change some things so the future was different I would never have s green lantern character. His look is awesome but I just think his powers seem dumb. I'd also lose Cyborg. So I'd just go with the big 3, flash and Aquaman. I think keeping it that small would be cool for character development. If I had to pick two others instead I think I'd choose firestorm instead because I think he'd look great and the two in one character thing is neat.

Honestly, even though this is a joke, some of these choices aren't bad. Many of the Marvel and DC characters share a lot of similarities anyway.

Hemsworth would be a great Aquaman. Chris Pratt as Flash? That'd be fun. Benedict Cumberbatch could make a pretty great MM as well.

I'm satisfied with our current cast though.

They do look a lot alike but Cavill's frame is much broader and I think he's about a head taller.

I'm a big fan of Cavill and I would never suggest that the role of Superman be recast, but if WB just said "f*** it" and hit the reset button with Superman, I wonder how Lee Pace might do in the role. I actually feel like he could pull it off. He's a big guy who has a really strong presence and a lot of charisma. I was watching this movie the other day about the Lance Armstrong doping scandal called The Program I started to think about how Pace might make a good Supes and Ben Foster might make a good Lex Luthor. Just food for thought.

Cavill looks like Superman but the writing screws him up so bad it's hard to be very good. So currently I'm really unimpressed with Cavill. I'm hoping he can have more to work with going forward but right now I'm wishing Chris Evans was cast as Superman instead of Cavill
