18 hours 48 minutes into the game:)46.9% Taking my time..trying to max out everything..Hoping to get 100%

I was riding my horse and accidently ran over an old man sitting at a camp. I felt bad so I stopped to apologize and the other guy got up and started shooting me. As he fired the first shot, a rattlesnake bit and promptly killed him...lol

Can you really Bullfight in this?!?!
Not officially... but at the first ranch there, I was bored waiting for the train. So I jumped into the cow pen they had... and there was a bull. At first I ran the hell out as fast as possible. But then I went back in and started to have fun with pissing it off and jumping out of the way before it hit me.

I haven't had a chance to play this yet but does this game put to shame the highly overrated and tired GTA series?

Eh, not really IMO. To you maybe, because you find it overrated, but I personally love GTA.

It is an incredible game, though.

Im not a GTA fan...Once Upon a Time In the West is my fav film of all time.

The Man with No Name Trilogy is what this game reminds me off...Its simply beautiful...

In GTA things are so congested...The scenery is so nice and the open space makes this game really good.

Best part of the game really is riding on your horse everywhere...I think youll enjoy this game alot.

Btw, Blacklantern alot of people here are just starting...calm your **** down.

The series was fun...with the second game(1st 3D version), after that it was incredibly repetitive and boring. I still have a few friends who play the latest one just shooting and blowing stuff up...

I'll have to check it out when I can, sounds great with me being a huge Western fan.

How's the soundtrack?

This game can get repetitive. In Mexico, your contacts are very spread out, and takes forever if you go by horse. You can build a campfire to quick travel, but you have to be in a very specific place (away from water, roads, towns, hideouts, and on flat land).

However, it doesn't hinder the pure awesomeness of the game.

Also amazing...I think you can find tracks to listen on youtube...Music picks up and makes situations tense and just like others have said, when you cross the mexican border the music makes the moment that much greater...However I havent been to that part of the game yet in single player, but in multiplayer free roam it does look pretty cool there

This game is a hell of a lot better than GTA4: Better characters, batter narrative, RDR doesn't have the poorly implemented social elements and much better gunplay. The music is era appropriate, but I prefer the music in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. I also prefer Juarez's Dueling system over RDR's.

5 hours in...about 12% done.

Its really fun.

Has anyone gotten wasted on whisky at the bar?! Its HILARIOUS!!! :woot:

haha yea i've got pissed out of my head a good few times. It's funny stumbling around outside and falling over. :D

The best part is when you stumble outside, bumping into people, pass out face first and people just walk on by like its nothing...haha. :woot:

I absolutely hated gta 4. I thought it was one of the worst games I have played for this generation of consoles. I was hesitant to buy rdr but I am certainly glad i did. It is easily one of the best games out on the market now and is a 10 without a doubt. The characters are all spot on perfect, and I really enjoyed the story, took me about 25 hours to beat the story while diddy dallying around helping out strangers and what not.

This game >>> Every entry in the GTA franchise.

10/10. So much goddamn fun.

The need to turn this franchise into a trilogy and make it into a spaghetti western franchise...The characters and storyline for this is so awesome...Ive been hoping for some more westerns like this...but we get the really serious westerns which i like, but how can you go against spaghetti westerns.

Also get Ennio Morricone to do the music heh

Red Dead Revolver
Red Dead Redemption
Red Dead ?????? (what do you guys want as a title)

The game for me is a 10/10...

also does anyone know how i can change my outfit for my character in the multiplayer mode? not create a character, but just use the character they have but mix up his clothing

You can't do that, You can only unlock new skins

If Ennio Morricone did the music for this game, I could die happy. If the makers could somehow get the rights to 'Ecstasy of Gold' and play it at the end of the game, it could be the greatest video game ending of all time.

ive only completed 23% of the game because of all the side missions i was doing...But Morricone and someone with a passion for spaghetti westerns need to either get on top of this series and make it happen or create another set of movies.

i miss spaghetti westerns...

btw, it sucks that i cant change the guy's clothing...i dont care about faces or anything...but i was hoping to mix and match to stand out a little
