Well....here we are on another anniversary. I still remember what I was doing. It was a Tuesday morning. The small TV was on in the dispatch office, with the volume turned down. Someone runs into the office and says that a plane hit the WTC. Everyone figured it was a small commuter plane....a cessna prop job. Then I saw the video footage on the screen.....the shot that I saw still looked like a small plane. But I don't live NYC so I had one real idea of how massive those towers were in relation to a jet liner. Then as we were looking the, news said it was an Airbus.......immediately I knew this was huge. Then right before our eyes (on CBS live feed) the second plane slammed into the other tower.

At that moment I told my boss "We're under attack". It was one scary day. People were looking in the skies all day. Wondering about other possible planes.

Thank God for the brave souls on FLT 93 who fought back. Thank God for the rescue workers who rushed in to save lives that day.

I think that the war on terror has become a victim of it's own success. A while ago, someone posted a disturbing thread asking,"Is there really a war on terror?" Wow. Six years and we have not had another one of these on our soil. There have been attempts. But they have been foiled. And as is human nature, if it ain't happening, it doesn't exist. We should learn from that day, that it doesn't matter if you believe a war exists......THEY DO. And that's all it took.

We better wake up.

Is it wrong to say, I just don't care anymore? Its been 6 years now. 6 YEARS. Time to move on. And I'm not saying to act like it never happened, but do we really need another day where every news program in the country is devoted to nothing but this? Where every newspaper has the towers burning on the front page? Its been six years, lets move on.

A horrible day.

You're right, we've gotta wake up. Something(s) bigger is being planned as we speak.

Buddy, today is September 9th. No anniversary for 2 days. And why does this get so much attention? Pearl Harbor got nothing compared to this, and Pearl Harbor got pwn3d

I know what day it is.

and you just proved my point.

Let me go ahead and post how Celldog is probably going to respond to both of us:

Why do you hate the troops you muslim sympathizer. You should be locked up in Guatanamo Bay like the communist you are.

We've been saying that for six years. There has been something planned for America every day in those six years, just as there was something planned every day for six years before 9/11. Should we really live in a state of perpetual fear because something might but probably not happen?

Shouldn't we be punishing the poeple who let it happen??

My grandpa on my dad's side was in Pearl Harbor.

I can guarantee you that a dead wife or husband isn't stopping the widows from enjoying the rest of their life.
I bet you 90% have gone on dates since September 11th

I bet you that every year on Sept 11 they pay respects to their lost ones.

Its just a day of remembrance...what is so wrong with that?

And you can guarantee that how????

And you can guarantee that how????

Because if someone spends six years in mourning there is something seriously wrong with their mental health and their family should probably have them institutionalized.

Move on?

We already have...

Forget?

We never will...

An anniversary thread every year?

unnecessary

There's nothing wrong with it.

Some people just enjoy shooting holes in everything. even noble things.

Paying respect is one thing. A public spectacle like we have endured on every anniversery since is quite another.

If my wife is taken away from me, I can damn guarantee you that I will mourn her for as long as I can remember her face. It has nothing to do with mental health.

But we better know that there are some that have not moved on. and some that have.
