Plane crashes into Austin building

Someone on another forum I read had a friend in the building. When she first posted this afternoon they didn't know where he was and posted several more times saying they were still waiting to hear from him.

They've since heard from him, he's OK, but obviously shaken up, as is everyone who was there today. On top of that, they don't know what the hell they are supposed to be doing as far as going back to work yet.

Reminds me of the girl I sat next to on the train out of NY on 9/11....she was in the 2nd tower and kept telling me how she went back for her bag before she left the building, and how she didn't know what would happen as far as her job tomorrow. All I remember thinking is how that girl is screwed up for life after this. :csad:

So an IRS building got hit?

Admit it, sone of you guys are going "Finnaly! Those bastards got what's coming to 'em!" Ok not really, thoughts go out to the folks down there.

I understand your point, but I think a better word would be stupid. Not insane. Perhaps that's just personal preference though.

Generally I would agree. However the connection previously had been made that terrorist made similar actions were ineffectual. The biggest connection is that both actions did make a statement and gained national attention.

Same as above, I'd say that it's not "insane". It's stupid. But I think we both agree that it was irrational and stupid.

We agree...but, as danoyse said, there is absolutely no justification for what this man did.

Agreed. Comitting Suicide used to be so simple. Just grab a gun and pop, mission accomplished. Bastards gotta go out with a bang (Pun intended) these days....sigh. What has happened to the world? :csad:

I am going to Texas next week, hope this doesn't **** up my plans

Why do people keep building buildings in the way of planes?

I would say he was insanely stupid. This may be a geographical difference (not sure where you live)....but here in Kentucky, we don't argue about calling someone who flies a plane into a building on purpose INSANE or not....we just accept for a fact that he ain't all there.

It's the same here in Ohio.

I think that's a given to call attempted murder/ suicide by plane Insane (not even counting trying to burn down his house), but some people are a little over-defensive over this guy, not wanting to label him as this or that.

I just want to know, if this guy is in such dire financial straights, why fly a plane into the building? If your able to just hop into a plane whenever and fly it, your better off than I am.

No one wants to be associated with this guy. That's obvious. You want him listed as a fanatic like that guy who slaughtered people in that brokerage firm because he day traded and lost, the clown who murdered Dr. Tiller and good old Tim McVeigh.

Disassociation can be likened to shoveling snow off of a sidewalk in this instance. The Anti-Tax crowd just needs a lot of shovels and elbow grease.

Where in Kentucky are you at exactly? :hehe:
