I think they were just closed for new posts and put into the archives to cut down on the amount of accessible space required for the site. :up:
 
It's to make the site go faster. If they aren't there, they arent' indexed. If they aren't indexed, we load faster.

You didn't say anything about the post counts and how they'd be affected...

I'm really curious about that.

It wouldn't be the end of the world for me, but I'd hate to lose my large avatar.
 
Most of the time Post counts aren't effected unless the thread is out and out deleted, which never happens with large threads...only stupid ass dumb spam threads, which are usually caught in a couple hours.
