Just thought that this would be a cool idea for anyone who likes to frequently rent movies from their local video stores. In this thread, you simply get other people's opinions on which movie you should/shouldn't rent(eg. 'Bolt' Vs. 'Quantum of Solace'). So, to start off quite simply, which movie would you recommend someone to rent this week: 'Bolt' OR 'Quantum of Solace'?

Quantum of Solace, not the best Bond film, but still really good.
I feel the same way. But I do feel that 'Casino Royale' is the best Bond movie(so far). But all of them are entertaining, at the very least.

I can see a landslide victory going down for 'QOS', but I'm gonna have to give some props to 'Bolt'. If you want to watch a movie with your family, definitely check it out.

As someone who works in a video store, I approve of this thread.

I bought Quantum of Solace on blu ray and rented Bolt.

I like Quantum of Solace more because I'm an action buff. Bolt is a cute movie but I don't need to see it more than once.

Well, I'm not sure, jon. The two movies are so different!

Personally, I'd see QoS again before I see Bolt, but I'm not sure what your tastes in film(s).

I get your point, I guess I can consider myself a heavy action buff, as well. I love all the classic '80s actioners, and I'll soon see andown them all(can't guarantee, but it's something I'm aiming for).

No, this is not for me, mate. I already rented both of these films:grin:

This is a thread based around new DVD releases, whether you should/shouldn't pick one up or, if there are no good ones out, recommend a movie you personally enjoyed that was not released that week. Basically, this thread is just for people looking for something to rent and watch on any given day of the week. You'll see, once I get this thread fired up.

Im a Bond fanatic (especially Craigs' Bond) so I have to go with QOS. I personally bought it to go side by side with CR (My fav Bond flick).

Bolt didn't really seem all that interesting to me but I suppose a rent won't do anyone any harm.

Rent both to get some diversity.

You know, thats interesting, cause imo the first 15 minutes of Bolt are better action than any scene in Quantum. Forster can't direct action at all - he uses the shakycam technique, but he can't pull it off correctly (and even if he did, its still shakycam :oldrazz:). Not to mention the plot is really dull.

Bolt

Goldeneye kicked butt as well. My first ever Bond film.
'Goldeneye' was badass, Famke Janssen kicked my ass in that film(:oldrazz:). I still to this day think Pierce Brosnan is the best Bond; even if the film fell apart, we'd still have his charm and charisma to enjoy:up:

I see your point with the action(and minorly agree with you on the story), the opening car chase was mediocre in comparison to 'Casino Royale's opener. But, despite all of that, it's the characters and the fun of it all that keep this film alive(for me) and I loved the develoing relationship between Q and Bond, really set up well for the past/future Bond installments.

You'll have to be a big dog or Owen Wilson/Jennifer Aniston fan to pass this one up, I guess, but which would you prefer to rent(if not both): 'Marley & Me' or 'Slumdog Millionaire'?

Slumdog, by far.

Though I haven't seen Marley :P

It's surprisingly a good movie, somebody on here(I hate to forget their name) recommended I go check it out; it was pretty good. But... come on. 'Slumdog' was the best picture of last year, it's hard to look past it for accomplishing such a thing. However, 'Marley & Me' would be a great rental for a family or to simply watch with your girl/boyfriend.
