no, I'm just saying that in my own opinion, online dating is more of a shy person's approach to dating . . . maybe I'm wrong . . . just seems that way to me . . . I know people who've had success in dating online, even people that have gotten married . . .

the plus side to online dating would pry be that people aren't just trying to hook up in the heat of lustfullness . . . they're actually getting to know one another on a more personal, cerebral level . . . . but that comes w/ a great deal of cons; i.e., you don't know who you're really talking to . . .

btw, if you want to hear from some people that have had bad experiences in dating online, there's a thread at the bottom of the page . . .

I think it can just be another avenue to meet people. They aren't necessarily shy, they just want another option. One of my friends met his girlfriend online, he never had a problem meeting a girl in a bar, but just decided to try that out as well.

Also the, you don't know who you're really talking to thing doesn't work. You don't really know who you're talking to at a bar either, it's just as easy to lie over the computer as it is in person.
