Rest in Peace Roger Ebert.

RIP Roger Ebert. Great critic, great human being. Sometimes I agreed wholeheartedly with his reviews, and other times I didn't agree at all, but he had a true talent for making you take a second look at a movie and think about it in a different way. His reviews might make me give a film I didn't like another shot, or make me question a film I initially loved.

Truly an icon. He will be missed.

He was a true icon in film reviews, and as such will be sorely missed. I didn't agree with many of his movie reviews, and in fact found that damn near anything he gave "Thumbs Down" to was a pretty good indication that a movie would be good. Especially later in life, he just never seemed to grasp the concept of a movie that's "just fun to watch". As though everything released by Hollywood needs to have some deeper meaning to it or something.

His review of the original Friday The 13th back in 1980 was so off the mark it was actually funny. Still, I would have loved to have had an oportunity to sit down with him and talk film. Alas, that will never happen. At least he an Gene now are reunited.

R.I.P. Roger Ebert.

This sucks! Ebert (alongside with Peter Travis) was my favorite movie critic.
