I'm new to the show, so everything is kind of blurred together. I've enjoyed the ride so far though. Now that I'm weekly I can see if my hype continues.

i like the fact that jack is doing his own scheming.

Season Finale Will Kill Off Core Character

Gotta be Daniel. The part about it being a surprise really makes me sure of it. Emily and Victoria are safe as long as the show is on the air. Ashley would be an easy kill. Declan would be an easy kill, plus Jack just lost his wife, lets not pile too much **** on Jack. Speaking of, Jack just started getting interesting by getting himself tangled into the Grayson's mess, so he's off limits. Nolan brings too much levity to the show, if they kill him off at this point, I don't think there's any coming back from that. Conrad's a possibility, but frankly I always saw Emily offing him herself, and probably toward the same. And then, unless they let the cat out of the bag within the next few episodes, I don't think they'd kill Charlotte before she's learned about Emily.

But Daniel... A: He's boring and B: the show would get more from his death than it would from his continued existence. It would affect not only Emily but also Victoria. It would be a HUGE hit to the Graysons. He's probably the only one Charlotte actually cares about at this point, so losing him would weaken any loyalty she might have to the Grayson name, and when the truth comes out, the WHOLE truth, she would probably be more than willing to watch Conrad and Victoria burn. I think the Initiative storyline has been moving in this direction, honestly. It just makes sense.

But it could be Aiden. He could be considered a core character, and is part of the regular cast.

Plus Josh Bowman (Daniel) is dating Emily Van Camp, so she might want him around, but Bowman might not like Aiden's love scenes with Emily. They might also want to get back to some of the feel of Season 1 where Emily and Daniel were an item. Aiden causes problems for that.

If it were Nolan, Emily would have a lot of trouble with the tech side of things and wouldn't as effectively be able to carry out her revenge plan. I think he's vital to the show.

I forgot to mention Aiden. He'd be a weak choice too. He just got upgraded to series regular. Why turn around a few episodes later and kill him off? The death should have ramifications. Daniel's death would cause major ones.

Well, there also has been a bit of backlash with Aidan from fans and critics, feeling as though he doesn't add that much, and the actor is far from great in the role. He kinda drags in his scenes too. Could essentially be correcting a mistake in the eyes of the fans to get rid of him.

Though I certainly wouldn't miss Daniel either.

I honestly don't see any problem with Aiden. I think most of it is from Daniel/Emily shippers *****ing.

Please oh Please Kill Aidan off.

I wouldn't mind killing off Daniel.I always said the build up to death last season which turned
out to be Tyler was a copout.Especilly since Daniel has been kinda useless sense then.He has gone so many different ways.

I want more emily and Jack Interaction.

But if you've thought it, and many others too, then Daniel's death won't come as a surprise because everyone's expecting it, so it therefore can't be him. :funny:

Just like I need to revise my theory of JR's killer in the Dallas thread.

‘Revenge’ Creator Mike Kelley To Depart
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

ABC‘s soapy drama Revenge has not been officially renewed for a third season. But when it is, it will be without creator Mike Kelley at the helm. After serving as executive producer/showrunner for the first two seasons of the drama series, Kelley is stepping down from day-to-day responsibilities though he may stay on as a consultant. Kelley called the departure, which comes at the end of his current contract, “a difficult mutual decision” between him and Revenge producer ABC Studios. “Helming this series has been the ride of a lifetime, and my producing partner, Melissa Loy, and I will look back on our Revenge time with deep gratitude and respect for Emily (VanCamp) and Madeleine (Stowe) and the rest of the incredible cast, our heroic crew, the dedicated and imaginative producing and writing team, and the tireless post production department,” Kelley said, also thanking ABC president Paul Lee, his marketing team, and the creative executives at ABC and ABCS “for their profound support throughout this journey.” “I’m excited about finishing post production on the season two finale, which I hope will stand among the best episodes of the series thus far. Continued success to all.”

I hear Kelley, who created the cult CBS drama Swing Town before taking a crack at a female-driven contemporary take on The Count Of Monte Cristo with Revenge, had been lobbying for shorter seasons for the heavily serialized drama. From the get-go, he had argued with ABC and ABC Studios that Revenge was much better suited for cable-style orders instead of the standard broadcast 22-episode seasons. After a fast start, Revenge was moved into the high-profile Sunday 9 PM slot last fall though it has been uneven creatively. I hear the pressure to churn out 22 episodes a season while maintaining the quality has taken a toll, sometime causing tension on the set and ultimately leading to Kelley’s decision to move on. He just informed ABCS and the Revenge cast of his decision. “Mike Kelley created a distinctive series for our studio and network with tremendous passion and dedication,” said ABC Studios EVP Barry Jossen. “We wish him all the best as he moves on to his next television achievement.”

As for who will succeed Kelley, the show’s writer/executive producer Sunil Nayar appears the logical choice and is rumored for the job, but ABC Studios stresses that no decisions have been made.

That's unfortunate. Especially considering he was probably right. The show would benefit not only from shorter seasons, but a knowledge of how long the series is expected to last overall. This is a primetime soap opera, but it isn't a Dallas kind of show, where they'd have to stretch the revenge scheme out for 13 years. You need a roadmap. I just hope whatever endgame he might have had in mind isn't scrapped.

That sucks. But I agree in that I think he's right in that the show would have benefited from shorter seasons, one of the few times I'll agree with that for network show.

I think the show utilized the 22 episode order well enough during the first season, but you can really tell that they're sort of twiddling their thumbs this season.

Yeah, first season was brilliant for most of its run. Just I don't think they thought through all their ideas they wanted to do and how to make them work together. This whole initiative thing just doesn't seem completely thought out and they moved too far away from Emily's initial revenge plot.

They need to start wrapping this show in the next season especially with the ratings it got this season.

I agree they would've been better as a 12 episode a season series. Shame abc wouldn't go with it.

I'm sure they could've at least come to some sort of middle ground between 12 and 22. ABC let LOST do 16 episode seasons for the final three seasons, even if that episode count did get mixed up along the way.

I think there has to be more to this than just what is being said.

Abc probably didn't mind that since lost was an expensive show and they already had an end date.

New Showrunner Set

I'm not sure making a writer that only joined the season at the beginning of this poorly recieved season the new showrunner is necessarily a smart idea...
