Review: SDCC Savage Land Exclusive Pack

I will be posting a review for the (awesome) SDCC Exclusive Savage Land Package. Fell free to post yours too, or just comment about my review.

Package: 10\10

In this area I have to give Hasbro a perfect 10. This package just abuse the other packages we have seen for the Marvel Legends line.

Outstanding art, great diorama insert and very well selected color pallet.

Shanna 10\10

Another perfect 10 for this pack. Defenetly the best Marvel Legends woman figure to date. The detail in the eyes, lips, hair and clothes for Shanna is perfect. Great facial expresion and skin tone. The body used for Shanna is great. The Hasbro articulation, for some reason, works just fine with her. The range of movement is acceptable. Ball joint neck, double joint elbows and Hasbro knees is what you get with her. The feets looks nice for a "jungle woman", or at least I don't have problems with them. She comes with a knife and a rifle.

Zabu:
As an accesory to the pack: 10\10
As a Marvel Legends: 8/10

Here is the deal...You can count Zabu as an accesory for this package or as a Marvel Legend figure. The main characters here are Shanna and Kazar. Personally, I LOVE the Zabu figure, it can be better, but I still love it.

With Zabu you will get a repaint from a GI Joe Sigma Six tiger. It has decent articulation, but the torso joint mekes him kind of rigid. The facial expresion, the eyes, the opening jaw and the paint on this BIG guy is great. Actually that makes up for the lack of movement I mentioned earlier. The paws and legs are very thight and makes him a very stable figure. You can actually mount Shanna and Kazar on him...beleive me, the guy will hold that and more!!!
He looks imposing ...at least in my X-Men display, until I make the Savage Land display.

Kazar: 9\10

Well, Kazar is in my opinion the first Hasbro figure to come with a peg hole in the back. So you can pose him using one of the old display stands.
His hair is taken out of the comics. His skin tone have a nice wash that makes him look with a very nice "human"color. The datais for the eyes and accesories are great.

Kazar comes with a knife, and also have one strapped to his leg and another one strapped to his back. This last two are molds, they are not removable.

The articulation is a perfect 10. The only thing that bothers me and cause me to give the figure an overall score of 9\10 is that his shoulder joints are a little loose. He can still hols a pose, but it bothers me, so, there goes a point.

This is a very nice figure, and as Shanna, it may be the best male figure we have get from Hasbro in the Marvel Legends line.

and just a tip, when reviewing a fig, use a macro setting on a camera so that way you can take pics close up without them bluring

well my camera is almost 7 years old and has it... so it should, unless it was a really inexpensive camera.

I mean the figs are great, def hasbro's best sculpts and paint jobs.. but im still tired of the hasbro joints... shanna has a hard time standing because she doesnt have a enough range of motion for most poses.

Kazar gave me more trouble to stand than her.

I am working on a diorama for the Savage Land...I am customizing some dinosaurs and stuff. I will be posting it in maybe a week or so. I hope it turns out fine!

Judging by the pictures alone, Shanna has to easily be the best female Legend Hasbro has put out yet, and certainly better than some of the Toybiz figures as well.

Ka-Zar doesn't look too great to me. Just not a fan of the sculpt.

Zabu is a cool toy, but the Sigma Six style just doesn't mesh with the Marvel Legends style. I still like him though.

All in all, it looks like it was a good exclusive with some of the best paints Hasbro has put on anything yet. Hopefully they'll maintain this level of production with the next few waves of Legends.

zabu is alright, but i think he should have been a new sculpt, hes def big enough, but i woulda preffered a more realistic then "cartoony" look to him

o, we all think that. but i guess its better then nothing... he doesn't look that bad and could be worse. but least we have him. would have proffered something semi realistic though...

This pack is definitely one of Hasbro's better efforts, though I wouldn't rank the figures as high as newavengers12 did. Shanna is definitely one of the best female figures, though I don't like the articulation of her upper legs/thighs, as it severly limits her range of motion. Her left hand also seems to be a little too wide to fit the gun into properly. Kazar is a good figure and has great articulation, but since the sculpt is a reuse you can see the fabric lines molded into the sculpt from the previous figures that used the body. And Zabu is a little cartoony, but doesn't look completely out of place with the rest of the Legends figures.
