After watching a few episodes of TB, I felt like I've heard RR's voice before, but I just brushed it off aside. But a few days ago, I finally realized it. He sounds like that Top Ten announcer on the Travel Channel. You know--Ten Best Hotels, etc. I checked IMDB, but it didn't list anything that had to do with host-work on the Travel Channel.

Is he really the Top Ten host??

:huh:Never heard of it....

I think I read somewhere he is. Awesome Spider-Man. Horrible Batman.

Was he Spidey in Spider-Man: Unlimited?

He not only does a great batman but he does an actual entrepeneur bruce wayne.

bruce in tas was a spoilt rich boy while bruce in the batman is actually a good citizen, loyal friend to ethan bennet and also a generous and hard working company owner.

he also does an incredibly informed and wise batman who doesn't use the bat computer to solve all his problems.

All that is because of the writing, not voice-acting.

well i believe it also comes down to performance. there are some emotions you get from him that simply aren't scripted.

Like his whole mood in relation to dick when his parents died, not to mention the way he handles the martian manhunter when they have that talk in the diner.

or his grit determination to take down mr freeze in artifacts.

Romano also did the player's character voice in Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force game. Not a bad Batman voice at all...

Overall he's got a pretty big voice background.

He does fit the younger less experienced Bruce Wayne, but the more experienced Bruce Wayne should have a different tone of voice in general...of course, that comes down to acting on that one.

Conroy will always be the older Bats.

experience wise though, he seemed to hold his own against someone like john jones who was voiced by someone who had a tone as if they had truelly seen it all...

rino didn't come off too badly in that conversation

I always find his voice to be more uplifting than anything, no matter what character he does. Because of the higher tone of voice he has.

What the hell are you talking about lol? Bruce in TAS was a business man who was always giving to charity, not just a spoilt rich boy... Have you even watched TAS?

Rino Romano was better as Spiderman,I really liked him in that role. He is also a good Batman, I actually do like him. As others have said, he is no Conroy but no one can top him, so theres no point comparing them.

Rimano does a better bruce for sure or perhaps more of a responsible bruce you actually see involved with wayne industries, while tas' bruce seemed more like a silent majority share holder of a company he only really profits from and other people run it on his behalf.

It's as if the batman persona in the batman is just as important as teh bruce wayne persona.

in tas, the bruce wayne persona was really only a front to the rest of the world.

Lol because it is. Batman is the real person and Bruce Wayne is the mask. Only thing i can think of him being portrayed as real playboy is in MOTP when he has the party at the beginning. But then again on the opening of The Batman we see him at a basketball game with two super models, then his Bat-what ever its called goes off (which is totally stupid, like no one would see that).

Make a poll of TAS Bruce vs TB Bruce?

The problem with polls of such a nature is that people who are anti-TB would vote against him regardless of his depiction because most TB haters haven't actually watched all of the episodes to get a good enough judgement for comparison.

Alright fair enough, i haven't watched every single episode with a 'young' bruce wayne in (beyond doesn't count) in dcau but i've watched about as many as i have TB.

Alright look at this direct episode comparison.

Robin's reckoning vs A matter of the family.

IN Robin's reckoning, it was robin that went kinda off the rails after his parent's killer while it was batman who tried to protect him.

In A matter of the family, bruce saw so much of himself within dick that he himself thought as this as his own way on getting revenge for what happened to his parents, he took the death very personally and this reflected with his actions as bruce and also batman. It was robin that then became the voice of reason about him gettin what he deserved (which was justice).

now for me personally, i think the newer angle is better storywise but a lot of people absolutely love robin's reckoning and think it's one of the best dcau eps ever so it's hard to convince.

in short, i've always believed my views to be in the minority so any kinda poll based on the majority's perception isn't really going to show or prove anything you and i already don't know.

Well your obviously biased, since look how you summed up Robins Reckoning in so few words with "Batman tried to protect him" while you went into detail about "A Matter of the family". Theres more to it than "tried to protect him" considering it was actually a 2 part story. Also those are 2 story's based on Robin when we are talking about Batman, a better comparison would be 2 episodes that revolve around Batman. The reason people don't tend to like TB is because its of a far poorer quality than TAS, and im pretty sure you know it would be a landslide to TAS in a poll.

Also you say people disregard TB without watching all the episodes then you go on to say you haven't seen all the 'young Bruce' episodes of TAS.

well all the episodes with bruce in the dcau consist with a few hundred, I don't think there are many people who have watched all of them (and tnba never aired in the uk).

Well to be fair, the large role of robin's reckoning was a flashback while i was comparing the present bruce with the present bruce from both shows and the way they both handled or wanted to resolve the situation with dick.

The reason i used this ep as an example as there aren't that many directly comparable eps in both shows and this is possibly the closest you can get to similar storylines being shows in both shows.

Again, i think the batman may have started off poorly and with it starting so soon after dcau (or even while it was also on), it didn't help matters but now I think in its fourth season, there isnt really much to moan about. The only things people can go on about this show now is the same thing they have been saying about it since the first or past season, which really comes down to character designs, annoying batgirl etc but then there were plenty of episodes in teh last season that avoided both of these issues and i can honestly say hold their own to some dcau episodes.

IT's always nearly impossible to compare a four year old franchise with something that has been going on for 15.

Just look at all the g1 transformer fans still in love with that and unwilling to accept any deviation from it in today's medium. It's the same thing.

I won't be able to change the minds of anything that someone grew up with and loved but then i have an open mind about things and am willing to give new things a chance (not saying you're not) so i feel it's good to appreciate the positives some changes may bring. I think the batman holds its own on a lot of aspects except familiarity and nostalgia but these are unconciously some of the most important.

Rino was awesome as Spidey , (Season 4) Of The BATMAN is when Romano proved he's worthy of THE MANTEL OF THE BAT :batty: to me .
