Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law for Rise of the Guardians

DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. named its all-star cast for Rise of the Guardians, featuring Chris Pine in the lead role of Jack Frost, together with Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher and Jude Law. The film, scheduled for release on November 21, 2012, is based on "The Guardians of Childhood," a series of highly anticipated children's books by William Joyce.

Rise of the Guardians is being directed by Peter Ramsey and co-directed by William Joyce, produced by Christina Steinberg and Nancy Bernstein, written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire and executive produced by Guillermo del Toro and Michael Siegel.

"It's a thrill to be working with such an all-star team of actors and filmmakers on Rise of the Guardians," commented Bill Damaschke, Chief Creative Officer at DreamWorks Animation. "When we bring Bill Joyce's imaginative vision to the screen in 2012, audiences will experience an incredible story with a truly epic sense of adventure."

More than a collection of the well-known childhood legends, Rise of the Guardians tells the story of a group of heroes - each with extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world. This epic 3D adventure stars Chris Pine as Jack Frost, Alec Baldwin as North (Santa Claus), Hugh Jackman as Bunnymund (Easter Bunny), Isla Fisher as Tooth (Tooth Fairy) and Jude Law as Pitch (The Boogeyman).
This sounds like a lot of fun. :D

It does sounds interesting!

It has a interesting concept, I wish that DiCaprio was still voicing Frost but Pine is good replacement, I'm still looking forward to this.

Lol, Santa's a tatted up gangsta.

The kid reminds me of Zac Efron or someone lol. Wonder how old Jack Frost is supposed to be. Looks more teenage than thirties.

I like Pine and the rest of the cast so I might see this on DVD.

Too bad that this isn't live action.
It would have rocked!

The first poster was awesome. I don't like this new one.

Thr character designs looks off; almost generic.

Is that plant thing supposed to be the tooth fairy? I was expecting more after the first poster. This one looks like a generic video game cover. Did they change Santa's suit from the other poster? I don't see any of the brown fur.

or might be mother nature

reminds me of the council of legendary beings from tim allens santa clause movies

I was excited when I saw the poster.........then I saw the second poster and my excitement level dropped hard.

I know that Dreamworks is doing well with 'Dragon' and 'Kung Fu' critically, but I think a film like 'Guardians' feels like a relic from the early 2000's that they just uncovered.

I, personally latched onto holiday characters, after the rise of this whole fairy tale thing. Always wanted to be a part of making these characters larger than life and my "take" is catching interest within studio walls as well. I'm betting it's the same thing here, although it's obviously further ahead. I just think the film, and new book series, is going off of that emergence too. Like the door just seems "open" now or something.

Both posters excite me, gonna be fun.

This looks pretty damn fun. I'm going to check it out.

Surprised they didn't have Jack Frost in the trailer. Looks a lot better than what I expected after that second poster which looks like a straight to DVD cover. Also the smirks! My God, so much smirking for one poster!
