So I see Rob cast his talentless wife as Lily.
Yeah, this is going to suck.
Yeah, this is going to suck.
I've never been a fan of this kind of nepotism in Hollywood but a lot of times I'll give it a pass as long as the acting is at the very least passable. Like when Tim Burton was married to Helena Bonham-Carter and she showed up in all of his movies until they split up, I was fine with that because she's a good actress. Kate Siegel is married to Mike Flanagan and she shows up in nearly all of his projects in some capacity. Again, I'm fine with it because she's a capable actress. But Sheri Moon Zombie really only has one character in her wheelhouse, and that's the white trash sexpot. I really don't think she'll bring anything to the table as Lily. But then you have the other two:So I see Rob cast his talentless wife as Lily.

Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman. He's another Zombie regular so it's practically nepotism. As for Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa, he certainly looks the part but make no mistake that Sid Haig definitely would have had the part if he were still alive.
It's just amazing to me how the studio meticulously recreated the elements of the show like the house but still allowed Zombie to do his usual casting schtick. If this were a series it would be one thing but it's just funny how they greenlit this thing with absolutely no star power.
Agreed on everything except for the last part. Halloween Kills ain't good, but I'd still take it over the Hot Topic movies that Zombie gave us.Yeah, I’ll never complain about Kate Siegel or Helena Bonham Carter being cast in anything because they’re both very talented actors. But SMZ is just awful. Like you said, she has ONE character and can’t even do that very well. Honestly, the more chances Rob Zombie gets at filmmaking, the more convinced I become that he’s not a real director. I know this is The Munsters, but by casting his wife, it’s like he’s not even taking this project seriously. The Devil’s Rejects was the one moment in his career where I felt like he actually made something innovative and interesting. But then he ruined whatever good will he built up with that film by making those garbage Halloween “reimaginings” that totally missed the point of the Michael Myers character. I bet he’s glad that Halloween Kills is out now so there’s finally a new Halloween movie that’s s***tier than the two he did, thereby making them easier to forget.
100% agreed. Internet has no idea how good they have it.Yea, give me a break with all this "Halloween Kills is the worst movie ever" nonsense. Nothing is going to be worse than RZHW2 and Resurrection. Sometimes I get the impression people have no idea what they're even looking for in these movies.
Is it bad that the only thing I remembered Daniel Roebuck from is Matlock?
That’s exactly what I thought this morning. I got excited, thinking Rob was actually branching out, talent-wise. But alas…When I read Jeff Daniels I started to get real excited.![]()
Spot on. That's exactly how it should be.That’s exactly what I thought this morning. I got excited, thinking Rob was actually branching out, talent-wise. But alas…
I’m sure Rob and Sheri are lovely people and I don’t begrudge the man wanting to work with his wife, but… I feel like she doesn’t have to be the lead, y’know? Because this isn’t a Burton/Bonham-Carter pairing. It’s Burton/Lisa Marie.
Well now you've got me wanting a Once Upon A Time in Hollywood style Munsters movie where the Manson family pays a visit to 1313 Mockingbird Lane.I'm still curious as to how he's going to shoehorn his yt trash Tobe Hooper worship into this. Is Herman Munster going to secretly be a lost member of the Manson family. yawn.
Can we switch this out with Mockingbird Bird Lane?
