Sadly, I wasn't a big fan of this one. I really liked Katy O' Brian in it though but the rest of the characters did nothing for me and the humor was very hit and miss. If you haven't seen it yet definitely check out Slay on Tubi which is a much better version of this movie IMO.

I'm not a Chris Stuckman fan but I actually liked this quite a bit especially the first 15 minutes which reminded me a lot of The Blair Witch project which Im sure was intentional. Its really well acted too and the scares actually got me at times. I also liked the subtle Mike Flanagan influence he put in there which I'm sure most Flanagan fans will spot right away.

A nice little hidden gem of a found footage flick. Its starts out slow but once the twist is revealed it's pretty relentless and I definitely wasn't prepared for how gory and gruesome this would get in the third act but man there's an embalming scene that had me squirming in my seat the entire time.

6.5/10

Finally saw this and I can see why its been getting so much praise online in certain circles. This is pretty much a dark buddy comedy with some horror elements thrown in there too. I did think the two leads played really well off each other and I enjoyed the little, subtle Hollywood insider jokes. I wish we got a more satisfying ending but the clever humor really worked for me here.

Sling Blade (1996)

Billy Bob Thornton's role of his lifetime. I've only heard the title of this film during the decades, and always was curious. And damn did I get an experience watching this slow paced but super tensioned drama. Thornton is brilliant as director here, and of course brilliant as the main character. Lots of great acting all around here. I thought the kid was truly excellent, and had to google him, since he somehow felt familiar. Turned out he was the lead in FF: Tokyo Drift. Yeah, that was unexpected..

RIP John Ritter (crap, now I see him as a totally underrated actor, way too late :( )

TRAIN DREAMS (2025, Dir. Clint Bentley)

This movie floored me and I made me weep at the ending. Effortlessly captivating with the simplicity of the story being lifted to a completely different level by the incredible visuals and career-best performance of one of the most slept on actors of our generation, Joel Edgerton. Easily my favorite of 2025, and probably a new Top 10 All Timer.

SPECIAL BULLETIN ( 1983)

While I'm 42 years late to this riveting, and outstanding telefilm, I'm glad I've finally had the opportunity to check the film out.

Airing in 1983 , the same year The Day After aired, and began a national conversation , Special Bulletin is a fictional teleplay , which plays out like a real time news broadcast, covering a Terrorist Hostage situation, which has major implications , and rivets the nation.

The entire film is played as if it's a real life , ongoing , crisis with reporters, file footage, press conferences, and talking heads.

Throughout the TV movie , there are reminders to any viewer in 1983, that what they are seeing is a fictional telefilm ,and that the events depicted aren't real .

Given the casting of mostly lesser known character actors , the believable circumstances , and the use of real on location shooting, and file footage, it's easy to see how someone could think the film was a real news broadcast, without the reminders placed after commercial breaks.

I don't want to give much away beyond that , but the acting is top notch across the board ,and the TV movie was nominated for several awards after it's release .

It's well done, and I highly recommend watching it as it's available online to watch for free.

Airing March 20, 1983 , in the top ten was an 80s classic by The Eurythmics.
