Robin Hood

Probably dreadful- most attempts at Arthurian adaptations are. The BBC shouldn't attempt to make a historical drama set 1500 years ago on the kind of budget to which they have access. They are better off plumping entirely for the romantic tradition; with late medieval suits of armour, elegant palaces and mythical monsters. I suppose the role of Merlin as the principle character hints at this. Maybe it has the potential to be a kind hybrid of "The Tudors" and a higher-brow "Xena".
