Oh, hell yes to this. Oldman and Jackson in the same movie?

This is a chemical mixture of badassery and awesomness of epic proportions.
 
would of loved to have Sam Jackson as a villain or Captain Reed
 
This project gets more and more interesting.
 
I am really looking forward to seeing at least a teaser trailer. Heck, just a set photo or something!
 
Just read the news a little while ago about samual l jackson joining the film. Sounds like another sweet casting. And I could totally see him as that jackass like tv guy from original film. If that is what they are going for.

Picard like I said before the film hasn't even started shooting yet. Film starts in sept. So we won't see anything offical or leaked to then. Same with teaser/trailer won't likely to see that to probably jan the earliest.

My main concern/info wanted is the suit. Even a blurry spy photo would help alleviate any worry I have for this film

Yeah the cast is shaping up great but seeing the suit will be the key piece for many fans I think.
 
While I'm really excited about this project, Joel's comments about making Robocops appearance more "human" made me worry a bit. I just know that the helmet should stay relatively the same with some minor upgrades here and there.

That's the most iconic feature of the character. Omit that and visually you don't really have the character there anymore.

Well so far the only big change is that you can see his eyes apparently. I don't know how that is going to work.

Well, even if robocop's design is a bit... off, but the story is really good, then I will still enjoy it a lot.
 
what if they made it look like a translucent riot mask (basically, a very sci-fi take on what a riot mask would look like), would it sit well would you guys or would it put you off from the movie?
 
Sam Jackson can pull off a black Clarance Boddicker IMO

Just imagine...

"You see I got this mutha******* problem. Those pesky assed mutha******* cops don't like me. So I don't like those mutha******* pesky assed cops...NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA!!!..." :D
 
He needs to look like an armored super SWAT, not a replicant android.
 
I hope we finally get the scenes that were both deleted in Robocop 1 and 2.

There was meant to be scene in the original where after going home, Robocop visits Murphy's grave and that acts as the final big blow to him.

Then in Robocop 2, I think there was meant to be a scene where after he gets dismantled by Cain, he starts having delusions of being Murphy in the graveyard, and as he gets closer and closer to his headstone, he starts transforming more into Robocop.

I think they sounded awesome. I hope something like that ends up in the movie.
 
Sam Jackson as a Media Mogul type right? Hmm I wouldn't mind him playing a J. Jonah Jameson sorta role I suppose hating Robocop that kinda thing. As for Joel Kinnaman - awesome casting. Need to see those two Trope de Elite movies or whatever they're called. Lookin' forward to catching the Killing Season Finale next weekend(ish) too.

And you judge an actor's talent from that how exactly?

Oh, I forgot, internet logic:

Looks like the character = great casting

Doesn't look like the character = can't see it, bad casting

When movie comes out = he is the ONLY person I can see playing this character

If that's your only idea and vision of how Robocop should look like, then you've already set yourself up for potential disappointment.
 
And we likely won't ge suit images to once the film gets underway. And it also counts on will they be doing exterior shooting first. Or studio work first. Though personally I hope they do what some comicbooks films did like amazing spiderman and man of steel. Release a official studio image of costume prior to any location shooting. But still we are months from that.

As for transulent visor I don't think that is to bad. Have it as folks said be like riot gear/motorcycle visor, might have a slight tint so like in shadows/night scenes it looks dark. But in day scenes a bit more seethru. That I wouldn't mind at all.

As for body of suit I still say it needs to be like original sure some modifications would be fine. Like a sleeker look or what not. But if its not armor suit. Its more universal solider/terminator then robocop. Though I still think suit should e handled like ironman was done. Have a full suit for standing scenes and any other limited moving scenes. But then just have helmet/upper body peices with lower half a mocap suit. To be replaced with cgi later. So they can have better mobility for actor/stunt folks.
 
i think in this era, robotcop is going to look more human then ever. I assume he will look almost like the main character in Deus Ex:Human evolution.

No I'm not. Just pointing out that the helmet is pretty iconic and they should at least try keeping something similar (not exactly the same) to the original design. I'm not saying for him to have the same exact helmet.

To be honest I'm still watching this even if he's radically changed. I'm one of the few who has been supportive since Padilha got hired.

Most here haven't even bothered watching the Tropa De Elite movies which shows this man has an incredible eye for crime dramas and action.
