Just read the news of hugh laurie being cast as ocp ceo/villain for film. Interesting choice there. Can't wait to see what he brings to the film. Also the teaser poster from licensing expo doesn't look to bad.

Anyone else think Hugh Laurie would actually have been an interesting choice for Alex Murphy?

I can't find the script for this anywhere. Bummer. :(

I would think so. It's not available at where I get scripts from though. :(

Hmmm, I haven't heard anything from anywhere about it being out there. If you do come across it, be sure 'not' to let me know about it... :oldrazz:

Craig mentioning about it made me look for it. :funny:

And... Will do. ;)

Looks like it's giving us a bit of a look of the suit as well. I'm digging the aesthetics. :wow:

Looks like they're leaning heavily on the "product" angle

What better way to demoralize Murphy/robocop than slap a giant "robocop" logo on him

He's a product that the company can use any way they want.

"we've got the future under control"

That line conveys the arrogance of ominicorp

The tagline font text looks like terminators too

Sounding very interesting so far, still hoping for a little Peter Weller cameo

So I guess the suit is getting some red accent lighting. Hopefully they dont go overboard and make him look like one of those over-neoned rice burners from Fast & Furious

-DOOM :doom:

What area of the body is that supposed to be on the poster?

I think it's his leg near the inner gun holster area.

It's actually a really good call back to the original. I don't think many people noticed but Robocop in the first film did have OCP brandishing on his leg there as well.

As well as around the side of his helmet.

Okay, the casting has been impressive thus far. It's the only thing keeping me interested in this remake. Now if we can just get our hands on a few set pics and concept art involving the new suit, and we'll be in business.

2013? Anyone else think that's too early? I mean, they've yet to start to shooting.

It's set for when to be released August 2013, right? And it starts filming in September? I think that's plenty of time

I suppose, but they've yet to announce the rest of the supporting cast. From what has been revealed on this site, three actors have only been confirmed, and that's it.

But as I said they don't start until September they have time to cast.
And they seem to be "in the zone" when it comes to casting SLJ and Abbie Cornish were shown to be in talks last week and Laurie this week.

I'm sure it's fine behind the scenes when it comes to casting

Principle casting should be done by early/mid July. They're moving quite well if anything.

Everything has been healthy about this production so far.

So, since every interview with the director says that this movie takes place between Murphy's death, and when he becomes fully functional. Does that mean we won't see Robo till like the end of the movie?

Don't want to see a remake but if they do then I want the movie to be a social commentary like the original was but focus on thing that are relavent now like the internet.

perhaps more details will come out around the time of ComicCon next month

SLJ? Eh, I hope not.

Cornish, I like that choice though.
