Having Peter Weller in the movie would definitely be great if this info is true. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1399103/fullcredits#cast
He'd make a great Magnus. If Peter Weller is doing a voice in the movie, he' be much better for Prowl or Ultra Magnus than Hot Rod/Rodimus.
Agreed with Jake, Weller would be an amazing Ultra Magnus, other than that, I cant see Rodimus Prime being in this movie, I very doubt they would kill Optimus for the second film running.
lol.... since when did the movies follow the cartoon storyline anyway?
Megatron returned and he didnt become Galvatron.
Rodimus could very well plop down to Earth in the third movie
Maybe Rodimus, Ultra Magnus & other transformers followed Megatron to earth centuries ago & suffered the same fate as Megatron & they haven't been discovered until now.

Maybe Rodimus Prime already came to be centuries ago so they wouldn't have to delve into the backstory of how Hot Rod became a Prime. A Prime doesn't always have to die before another is bestowed with the name.
I'm sure people have thought of that idea before...
In the second movie they introduced a decepticon "higher" than Megatron.
Maybe in the third movie, they will do an Autobot higher than Optimus?

imdb once had Leonard Nimroy as Ultra Magnus
Wasn't Nimoy Galvatron though?
Prime or not Hot Rod's legal name now is Rodimus regardless, Hasbro can't even use the Hot Rod name for the toy because of the Hot Rod name already being a trademarked property itself.
But how can he be a Prime? By cartoon continuity, Optimus would need to give him The Matrix, by movie continuity, the Prime's in ROTF said Optimus is their last descendant, and if you include the comics, Optimus is the only Prime in existence at the moment.
Erm, yes they do, above for more.
Isn't that what happened with Jazz and Ratchet too? The toys were called 'Autobot Jazz' and 'Autobot Ratchet'. Couldn't they just do the same thing with Hot Rod? 'Autobot Hot Rod'.
2 question:
Why?
Its been explained by Hasbro a number of times over the past 10 years, at different conventions.and
How would you know what they can and can't use?
ThanksAlso, it's precedent, not president. t:
It does.Well that sucks.
